I really can't decide on a favourite between the objection/pursuit/cross examination etc themes. All of them are great.

1/3 done and 1/2 of my VGM are out.
Reading these writeups though, I am starting to see what kinds of music you like and pretty confident that one particular nomination of mine is going to do well, say top 50.

Yikes, that was my favourite nomination too. It's another piece that plays in the menu and got me stuck there. These appeal to people who favour classical music I guess.

Already had a bad feeling when my first orchestral track went out and I expect more to go soon :(

Same thing happened to me in another ranking topic, I was feeling pretty good then in just 2 days all my noms were gone

Bit late, but after reading your write up I might not enjoy Seymour battle that much ever again

The MIDI soundfront for (old) Runescape is capable of some pretty memorable stuff, these two songs probably aren't the best examples.

IMO trials in DR1 are a bit short

The main draw of DR for me are the trials and those in 2 are just so much better and more unpredictably

Yeah people who look important are always high risk on the 1st case

I liked DR1, but thinking back I realized all the 'ultimate hope' stuff was just cliche as fuck.

You really should play 2, it really improves upon the original.

They were short, maybe, but only because you were trying to fit them into tweets. I wouldn't personally constrain yourself, because I'm a B8'er and I want to know your full thoughts, but if you've got a Twitter audience, too, then you need to keep them in mind. As for negative, we're talking about the bottom five songs! If there was a time to be negative, this would be it!

Yeah, usually the bottom of the list gets trashed. I didn't expect you to find even a little to praise about those songs.

Some very brief thoughts before I get going later

Chapter 1
Right off the bat there is a mindfuck with Kurisu supposedly dying and people in the street disappearing... then everything goes back to normal. Rintaro's memories don't fit with the others, so did he somehow travel to an alternate universe where things happened slightly differently? This reminded me of the mind swap thing from Zero Escape. The time travel lecture just confused me but then they managed to create a time machine?. The game starts slow as I expected. Lots of unanswered questions though.

Chapter 2
I can't tell whether Rintaro is smart or dumb, or whether he means what he says. He keeps talking to himself, but is quite knowledgeable on a lot of scientific stuff, and then spouts a bunch of bullshit conspiracy theories that turns out to be somewhat true. It's also funny how he decides to hack into SERN without much reasoning only to find they really are up to something. I get the feeling that they are going to get caught sooner or later, and that's when things will start to pick up.

This game has been recommended to me years ago when I was playing Ace Attorney, but gave it a pass because I liked VNs with a bit more gameplay. But it turns out the anime adaptions are very popular and got high scores, then it went on sale on Steam, and I heard the story is great, so there really is no excuse not to go ahead.

I'll write something about chapters 1 and 2 as I blew through them yesterday before I thought to make this topic. There's going to be reactions, predictions, opinions and maybe character rankings. This is also the first time I do a playthrough here so it's probably going to suck.

Oh and I use a spoiler free guide to get the endings because I'm lazy.

Can't wait to change this dumb username in 2 years
