This seems like a pretty standard practice these days. Bride/groom to be goes out and gets drunk with a bunch of their closest friends, ends up succumbing to peer pressure (or just natural instincts).

The concept of a bachelor/bachelorette party always struck me as kind of weird. You've had however many years of being single and having casual encounters already. You should be looking forward to planning/spending the rest of your life with that person, not like you're getting locked away forever and you only have one last night of freedom to do what you want.
