In the sense it's a carb.
Most of the energy is just people convincing themselves sugar is giving them energy.

sugar is literally fast-absorbing-energy. it *does* give you energy, it's just short-lived. and for kids, it'll last a little longer than for adults, but both of them will have a crash if that's all they ate.

I guess it's my word choice. I am agreeing energy does come from it.
What I'm talking about is the hyper attitude kids get and people blame it on the sugar. It's the excitement of the food usually convincing the consumer they are getting an extra boost.
I can't source it atm, but they tested two groups of kids with candy. One had sugar and the other didn't, but the kids acted the same. The article noted that Red 40 seems to have some affect on people that isn't quite fully researched yet.

Do people still believe sugar causes hyper activity? Thought that was just over protective parents and kids looking for attention that still thought so at this point.

PS2 or PS3 if we allow BC to factor in

I feel like in games discussions. unless you're talking purely hardware it would make it so unfair for certain great consoles to be considered so cause the next generation could play them but not exist without them.
If BC is a factor, then I think an early ps3 is the best console without internet involved by far.
If it's just the games from the generation, that allows the discussion to be more interesting.

Indeed but I'm more referring to the notion that labels mean absolutely nothing these days.

I try to push this so much. Labels only matter to those that understand them. If someone is trying to be mean, any label can sound bad.

If I ever mistake a gender and someone takes offense, I question why one label can be so bad when both should be equal. I've been mistaken a few times since I have long hair and I think my slim body type can be seen feminine as well. I take no offense at all unless it is implied.

Ok, pretend there is only one job and that job actually does abuse you in every way possible that wiggles around the law.

Are you saying that you HAVE to work there?

You can play what if all you want, but your examples are almost non existent.
It would be no.
If I have to pretend to work there, then I'd call the union, a government worker, the press, etc to inform others of the work situation.

Do you have a job? I get this feeling you're arguing why you shouldn't work or something.

In case it isn't clear, seems like most don't get your point or agree with it.

Not what they told me in class and I can tell you just from typing I hit more keys on home row than other keys.

Its been over a decade easily though so I may be wrong as trivial info like that wasn't the focus of the class.

You can type the whole word typewriter using the top row. If two vowels and the letters t and r are on the top row, I can just about guarantee you're bouncing all around your keyboard.
Check out Dvorak. It has all the vowels and common letters on the home row and it is setup for speed. It's slightly spread out between the two sides so your hands do equal work.

I don't want to work either, but part of being a responsible adult is doing things you don't want to do. Living requires money which requires working.

I think being an adult is learning you have to earn what you want or need and that it is much better than just receiving it.
When I'm not feeling well, work almost always boosts my mood. It fills me with pride.
Not everyone seems to get that and they spend their lives being miserable by avoiding work. That just causes stress on yourself and doesn't build strength or character well at all. Plus your image will go in the trash.

It helped me. Though I've lost some of my speed since I havent had a real need to type in a professional manner so the rare case that comes up I can be a tad slow.

Think I did 60 wpm with some mistakes (like just a few, usually a missed punctuation or something) and upper 30s wpm without mistakes when I took the class.

It was a required class at my high school.

I recall there being one key I wouldn't with the finger I was taught to but I did it my way anyways cause it just felt more right to me and I could hit it faster that way

I was actually fairly fast with hunt and Peck and was stubborn to learn at first due to that but I'm glad I learned it.

I have a feeling it was the B key.

Personally, I think qwerty should be deserted and people should choose whatever layout they want.

So no, it's not slavery, not even close.

I'm talking about a very specific subset of workers ,not all workers. The kind who refuse to quit abusive jobs because they feel they have no choice

Thing is they do have a choice whether they admit it or not.

When the employers start chasing you down and beating the shit out of you for trying to leave then it'll be slavery.

And that's the topic answered right there.

It doesn't matter what someone feels or believes when it isn't true...

I feel really terrible having to kill a bug but no matter how much it feels like abuse to another creature, it's not really in most people's eyes.
