It's impossible go run on modern pc, and the ps1 version is just as shitty about load times but with a controller. With dpad only because pre dual shock. So no. Seriously, any half decent squad with unity skills can probably make it happen with propper experience and funding. Think about if obsidian did it, and it was successful on steam enough to warrant a new game in that style. That would be badass as tits. It'd be better than nothing. It could even be s direct sequel to defiance. Oh my god I would orgasm faster than a teen losing his virginity to his date after taking her home from porn. --- |

| pres_madagascar 07/06/17 5:24:22 PM #1 | Yeah it was less survival horror and more action horror, unlike the first, but it was dare I say the better game. The first game, for all intents and purposes, was just resident evil with dinosaurs. Same controls, same everything almost. It's only unique feature was that it was dinosaurs instead of zombies. Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed it, but it never really had that actual dinosaur feel to it, it felt like resident evil with model swaps. Dino crisis 2 though, was badass. I'm replaying it now actually and it's still fun. It's greater focus on action, and having way way more dinosaurs, and dinosaur types, plus a location that was basically a "fine Jurassic park fans, here's the setting you want!" Place, it was ultimately a better game. Plus, you could shoot while moving. This was revolutionary for the genre at the time lol. And ironically, the setting is kinda cool, a town that disappeared through time, and you get sent immediately behind it, but... It's always been one of my favorite action games and I was one of the ones disappointed by whatever the fuck dino crisis 3 was supposed to be. --- |

But it plays everything way too safe for my tastes - from combat to design to plot - to be considered close to the best. The main series should be about taking risks and innovating with each new installment, even if those risks don't always pay off. Plus too many of the big plot moments are carried way too much by the soundtrack - the 'You're Not Alone' scene is nothing special and pretty forced if you remove its amazing titular track from the mix. Ultimately the plot never really stirred me to great emotional heights like other entries in the series, because it never took risks and thus never really surprised me (the Assault of the White Dragons sequence is really the only bit in the game that made me sit up and go 'holy fuck this is awesome!'). Thankfully, the steam/mobile versions have options to increase battle speed(that aren't the cheats), so it helped there. --- |
