The game is ok so far. The more I play it, the more it feels like a Deus Ex clone. It wouldn't be THAT bad if it weren't for the bugs and weird glitches.
What's funny is the pen and paper rpg it's based on is a good bit older than Deus Ex.

What are you playing it on, though?

Im reading a lot of mixed reactions from critics and gamers.
I'm on ps4 slim and loving it. Haven't mad many bugs except t frequent texture load issues, and occasional fps dips.

However:

1)i am extremely, extremely lucky in that regard
2)my eyes are too fucked to perceive the FPS drops others may notice.

It's definitely a mess of a game in other ways too, but I'm enjoying it a lot, but I'm way more forgiving, as my favorite types of games are eurojank games lol.

That's because Ubisoft homogenized all their games to more or less be the same. Far cry, ghost recon, Assassins creed, watch dogs, hell even their new rise of the immortals game. They're all essentially the same game.

I had to stop after Odyssey/wildlands/farcry 5.

It just got too much.

Nah, it runs at a usually pretty steady fps for my old eyes on slim ps4, dips in some situations but it hasn't been super often. I enjoy it a lot. Now, I'm not defending it, it's a buggy disaster at the moment, but it's still fun. Then again, I'm someone who beat fallout new Vegas... On Xbox 360...at launch. It was literally all about money. If they'd delayed it again to be only next gen/pc, they'd have never made any money off the game or made back dev costs. The only way this game would make any money is by being on last gen consoles. They were far too cocksure.

Is there an easy way to unequip mods or do you literally have to equip the weapon?

Oh, I also hate how the holster key is the same as the "change weapon" key. I cannot get the timing down to save my life. Sometimes I wonder if I'm going too fast but if I go longer then it still changes weapons.

The lines were disappointing, it looked like my character had been wearing goggles on his cheeks for a year straight. I did choose the gold cheek implants but those were more L shaped and these lines were... well, like goggles.
You literally have to equip it lol. There's a lot of weirdly cumbersome stuff in the way menus and stuff are handled, for no real good reason. And yeah, the game does a poor job of explaining stuff. Ign pointed out that they didn't know about one feature until an hour before they beat it.

It's pretty clear that at no point in time was this game ever "ready" for release. I cannot believe it passed certification.
That's just it. Many, many man hours and delays were likely due to trying their damndest to get it to function on last gen consoles, as that's where all the money would be made at first, and also why they hid the base versions from view until release. If they'd have made it next gen/pc only after a year or so ago, it could have launched in a much better state.

They also put the damn thing on stadia. Fuckin stadia.

I'm enjoying it a lot, playing on PC, about 5 hours in (have only completed like the first two missions and otherwise have just done a few side gigs and NCPD alerts). It does give me a sort of Deus Ex vibe, and I like there's a variety in how you complete things (can go stealthy or balls out or a combination of the two). There's a fair variety in gear from what I've seen, though I'm also... just wearing underwear and red boots and a trench coat because that's the best armor rating I have so far >_>.

Probably the worst part about it is the lack of guidance and explanation in the menus. Maybe if I play further they'll explain more... but it took me several minutes to find stuff like your actual skills (hacking, firearms, etc.). You can't seem to modify weapons without equipping them first - I got a weapon I can't equip but it has weapon mods I want to salvage but I am afraid to disassemble it and lose those modifications...

The perks are really useful but I'm not terribly fond of the perk system itself - perks are not available for purchase unless you meet the requisite Stat level or Skill level. It's not like other games where you unlock Perk A and that lets you unlock Perk B and then you can choose Perk C or Perk D next. I imagine that's because of how the game might work on paper in the tabletop RPG but it's nervewracking for me because I'm paranoid about screwing up my build >_>.

The only glitches I've encountered have been inconveniences at worst. There was one on the Character Creation screen (I was halfway through making my character, the screen just got locked scrolling up... but just playing around with the arrow keys fixed that). There was one where the dialogue option I needed to proceed didn't appear in the dialogue list (but... just asking the guy the "optional" line was enough to make it appear the next time the dialogue menu came up). And one where I looked in the mirror and my character was all bald with ugly lines on his face (I guess because it couldn't render sunglasses and a hat in the mirror?).
Pro tip: make sure you unequip mods from your guns before you switch them out for an upgrade.

It is not 15 hours lol. If you bumrush just the story, it's 15-20. But no one is going to do thst. It's pointless. The side missions are literally the best part of the game lol. In reality, most reviewers and gaming Podcasters and such are putting 30-50 hours into it before beating it.
