This. I have some positions which we ask the candidates to do minors tasks to simulate what their job will be. Its important and a good way to weed people out that lie on their resumes or just arent good. It doesnt take 90 minutes but is a key part of the hiring process.

Sure it is. Everything that your professor does is great for ecosystems and pollinators and all that but it looks like crap compared to a well manicured, golf course like, lawn.

I have contemplated taking my lawn seriously but its so much work and money. The idea of leveling it and getting a reel mower so that I can walk around barefoot is nice. But when it comes down to it I cant commit. I have done the easy stuff (soil tests, pre emergent, bug killers, fertilizers, regular cuts) but dont want to take on too much. Dandelions and other weeds stick out now that I care a little. They are hard to get rid of.

Thats awesome that you found a way to use them and be productive. Most people are the opposite.

I vote dem because the GOP is a mess and Im not down with the outright hate and punishment that seems to drive their current policy, but I have many conservative views like lessening the role of government in our lives and fiscal conservativism. I think federal spending and the national debt is a major problem that neither party is taking seriously. I dont care about woke nonsense that both parties want to fight over, it just doesnt matter to me.

The two party system is bad and needs to go. I want leaders that care about the future of this nation more than scoring points with their respective echo chamber. I want intelligence and rationalism in politics, which neither party seems to make a high priority.

As far as CE goes, because I don't repeat many democratic talking points I have been called MAGA and even been modded in dumb ways but thats how it is. This board is rightfully overly critical of right leaning posts.

When their cult leader is a convicted sex pest that is facing other felonies and threatening democracy itself, Im ok being a little more careful with posts that may support those things.

This just shows how poorly thought out this whole plan is. If this was done by a professional organization the rules would be updated and timed with the release of the news. There would be clear direction for the entire team and community. This seems like it was a decision that was either not expressed to the rest of the team, or hurried for some reason. Either way its not a good sign and suggests that they have no clue what direction they actually want to go.

Im just playing catchup, seeing all of this after work. Its pretty sad. The ownership have a vision that does not include discussion of current events and instead of just saying that and killing it right away they are trying to be coy. It would be one thing to make the board private or have a decent karma requirement. That would comply with their stated vision and not kill the board. Instead they have chosen slow death.

Its normal for ownership to have a vision that isnt liked by all of the user base. But the post today is poorly written corporate b.s. that doesnt say much. Yeah. Its kind of annoying. I broke down recently and have been paying a guy to do it. Its like $120/month for 2 cuts but I dont have to think about it or deal with getting stung by bees and wasps anymore.

It's a sad reality but most dudes are only tuning in to watch peak athletes in skimpy attire.

If a subset of athletes in a competition are objectively not as good as the rest there usually needs to be another reason to watch. Whether its stories about the competitors or personal experiences or in some cases sex. For example I like watching girls gymnastics because I used to do strength training for a competitive team so I got to learn a lot about it and have a decent understanding. However, if I wanted to simply watch the best gymnasts I would just watch the men. Gymnastics is probably not the best example because they do compete in different events but I do care about the girls competition. That is not the case at all for weightlifting. The girls just arent as strong so I dont have any interest.

Its always been weird to me that womens volleyballers or pole vaulters have to wear what they wear. It makes no sense other than to sell the sex. Its amazing that more of them dont speak up or revolt.

Idk, I have seen travelers be such annoying pricks to airline employees. Like, the person working ticketing has nothing to do with your flight being delayed or cancelled and there is no amount of Karen like behavior that will change the status of your flight.

I fly United a lot and havent had many issues with customer service. I missed a connection flying back home on Fathers Day even though I made it to the gate with the plane still there but after they had closed the doors and the people were pretty nice. Gave me a hotel room so I could nap and shower before getting a flight 8 hours later. I have seen people melt down in that situation and it just doesnt do any good.

I dont understand why people in airports think they are so entitled.
