Topic	Does anybody else not get Dune?

Before the 2021 movie came out I knew absolutely nothing about Dune but I enjoyed the movie a lot and look forward to seeing Part II Because Frank Herbert wasnt really interested in telling a story in the first place. He wanted to convey the message not to trust charismatic leaders and came up with some characters and a plot to do it with. By far the coolest thing in the first Dune book is told to the reader in a throwaway sentence instead of being shown to them.
