If I had a nickel for every time I played a gacha game that turned my favorite girl in the game into The Phantom of the Opera for her first 4-star card, I'd have two nickels. Which isn't a lot, but it's weird that it happened twice.

So yeah, after almost three full years of me not doing this, there's finally another game that I want to play badly enough that I downloaded it in Japanese because I'm convinced that it'll most likely never get an English release. That game is World Dai Star: Dream Stellarium.

I watched the World Dai Star anime earlier this year, it was fantastic (I know Spidey5 also watched it and can vouch for it being great) and I enjoyed it so much that I wanted to try the game. It came out a couple of weeks ago, but I only finally downloaded it and played it today. So far, I like it. It's a rhythm game that plays closest to Project Sekai, but instead of the curvy long notes that ProSekai has, it incorporates flick notes like D4DJ has, which is a pretty interesting combination. The music and visuals are great too, though I had to change some settings and turn down/off most of the extra visuals to get the game to run decently on my phone. Playing two different rhythm games (since I still have D4DJ installed and I play it too) might be tough to adjust to, and it'll suck not having the story to enjoy since it's in Japanese. But I mostly care about the gameplay when it comes to rhythm games anyways, so it's not as big of a deal with this one.

Also, it's funny that all four of the gacha games I'm playing now heavily revolve around music: two rhythm games (D4DJ and World Dai Star) and two turn-based battle games (Revue Starlight and Takt Op) where the characters and lore are heavily connected to music.
