Okay, I started Snowbreak on the PC client. No stuttering or lagging issues for me. The game runs very smooth, even with all the settings at max. I'm currently on a laptop with a mobile 4060 and playing with a Playstation 5 controller, by the way. I hear the mobile version of this game isn't great, so it's probably going to be more of a "best played on PC" type game like Genshin.

Right out of the gate, I'm already seeing some big changes from when I played the beta. Not just the new gameplay mechanics, the story is different! In the beta, the player character was some random nobody hinted to be a corpse donation to the company for research after he and his sister died from the First Descent. The only people you recognize are Lyfe and Fenny. No one knows who you are and you're treated as a potential hostile then threatened by T to work for the company in exchange for a nebulous promise to help you get your memories back or else die.

Now it's changed to where you are a member of the company who knows who everyone is and everyone seems to recognize you back. The devs kept the amnesia part the same but really toned it down. Also, Fenny appears much sooner, even as just a voice, and the MC starts seeing the sister from the very beginning instead of later in the story. There was also nothing about the MC having Theotropic Nerves. I'll stop there since I only covered the very beginning of the game.

The enemy AI is somewhat better but is still a little too easy, imo. Then again, it's still the beginning of the game, so eh. The boss fights are a step up from the beta.

You can reroll but there there's no point in doing it. Also, it's super tedious to do. Just stick with who you get from the gacha and use the selector ticket when you get it.

Destiny Child, ShiftUp's other game is shutting down. A shame the millions of Nikke couldn't support it.

Now we'll never see the trio of succubus saved from their eternal coma. A story I was actually invested in, so maybe I will have to read up what happened in the years ahead the Korean server was.

Also seems they will turn the game into a 'memorial' so you can still look through story/waifus/husbandos which should hopefully be pretty nice.

https://www.reddit.com/r/DestinyChildGlobal/comments/154j5ec/destiny_child_final_farewell_end_of_service

I do kinda hope we get a 'collab' into Nikke so some of them can live on, be it the three succubus/assistants to the MC or his other partners in crime.

I'm sure I'll have no issues running the game either. Also Kinoko sings the launcher song? Fucking based. I love her.

Also to be honest I might like the beta story setup more from how you're describing it. It sounds more interesting. The final one sounds more normal but I guess there can still be twists and turns and give the same vibes the beta story does later.

My update for the new topic:

* I dropped Honkai Star Rail since the start of the last topic and replaced it with Takt Op Symphony.
* I re-installed D4DJ Groovy Mix since I had the urge to play a rhythm game again.
* I'm still playing Revue Starlight ReLIVE, as I likely will until the day it shuts down.

And in other news, I was looking forward to Black Clover M, but apparently the global release got delayed again to fix some problems people had with the Japanese/Korean launches and the global closed beta. Soft launch in Canada is now in August, then the global release should be a bit after that.

Man, my biggest criticism of Snowbreak has got to be its gacha. Why did it have to emulate Genshin's gacha style and rates? *rolls eyes* To me, it puts a blemish on an otherwise decent TPS game. That was the other thing I was hoping would be fixed from the beta.

I take back what I said about the difficulty of the game. Sure, it's easy in the beginning. But, in later stages, enemies start to swarm you like the bug aliens in Starship Troopers. If your shooting skills suck and you don't use your skills right, you will die. It gets pretty challenging now -- no more casually shotgunning dudes in the face.

Btw, the Hard stages on Snowbreak are actually hard, which I appreciate

The multiplayer is... there. I think the most optimal build I've noticed was to just go full dig bick ballistic or whatever your element dmg. ADS related buffs are all good, the crit rate one is generally good, the one where you basically have to forfeit your ult is decent but better with ult recovery skills. Otherwise I'd say Ballistic>>>elemental>crit rate>crit dmg(if you got crit rate)>rest idk. Lots of bonus dmgs but spreading around a bunch of weak dmgs don't do that much dmg

There were ppl who were like 9-10 lvls above me once, and I figured out the skill priority. Ended up doing 53% of the lobby's damage with my 4* Ace girl, forget her name

I didnt get to try Snowbreak yesterday, but reading the posts here makes me think I shouldnt anyway. Low rates, more than one gacha, and multiplayer are all things I dislike in gachas. Im also not very good at shooters anymore, so high difficulty is also probably a deal breaker.

-Wuthering Waves (open world ARPG - this one will have a PC client)
-Aster Tatariqus (tactical RPG in the vein of Fire Emblem or FF Tactics)
-Thrud (air combat game like Panzer Dragoon - PC client confirmed for this one too)
-Crescent Moon Walker (RPG that looks a lot like E7 or Another Eden)
-Endless/Unfinished Night (name not final? It's an ARPG)
-Project BB (final name TBD; another ARPG with a top-down camera)
-BlazBlue: Entropy Effect (roguelike platformer)
-Project Nornium (final name TBD; ARPG)
-Project Hitomi (side-scrolling platformer; may not see an English release)
-Ex Astris (heard this is going to be a premium game rather than freemium)
-Reverse Collapse: Code Name Bakery (this one is a premium game that's a spin-off of GFL)

Yeah it's snowbake. Yao has this like shoot cancel thing you can do with her skill. You shoot and press e and it cancels the lag btwn attacks as long as you have charges left.

Fritia 5* is a bit risky to use. She's completely vulnerable using her lasers and the lasers don't do quite enough damage to justify it except in very specific circumstances. But she's got an AOE stun

There was also some lore stuff, like she could've got a way cooler alter but instead ita a summer unit, and how she's stronger with a water gun than with her legendary sword. And people didn't expect AK to do a summer limited banner back then. AND her original art used in her reveal made her look like Blaze and had to be fixed. It was a shitshow, I don't see Eyja or Swire getting that much hate.

I'll be dropping 300 pulls anyway, gotta get Gavialter. I'm perfectly fine with getting a bajillion Eyjas while rolling, please HG.

They already released their skillset and both seem pretty good and fitting alters at least that make sense, unlike Ch'en's.

Swire as a merchant (continuous dps loss)
Eyja as a elemental healer medic

But yeah, IG Swire was straight garbage. Her new one doesn't seem meta, but decent? and got style for days. Eyja's seems good but we already have several great characters of her class so she seems more a side grade to them.

Only downside is that Eyja looks pretty similar to her usual style from the artwork so far.

Pretty much but don't go too nuts on it. All the beginner banner gives you is a set number of pulls at a discount rate for 10-pulls and a guaranteed 5* in 50 pulls instead of the usual 80. Since it doesn't have a time limit on it, I'm going to pull on it over time as I accumulate regular gacha tickets. The discount is also not tied to getting a 5*. I already got one from it and I still have another 10 pulls left.

5* units aren't a priority in this game as of its current iteration. That may change in the future but I'll cross that bridge when I come to it.

Then what reason would I have to use the regular banner with the guaranteed 5* in 80 pulls over the beginner one? What advantage or difference is there with the regular one outside of the guarantee?

Also let me say that one shotting mooks in the head with a shotgun is damn satisfying. This is a game I have to be playing with a keyboard and mouse.

Then what reason would I have to use the regular banner with the guaranteed 5* in 80 pulls over the beginner one? What advantage or difference is there with the regular one outside of the guarantee?

None. If you're getting regular gacha tickets ("Operative Recruitment Chit"), by all means, spend those on the beginner banner until it's gone. As for "don't go too nuts," I was referring to using your various currencies in buying tickets. Getting the "Manifestation Echo Covenant" tickets may be a better value because you can pull on the limited banner with those and still get the regular 5* units (it is a 50/50, btw).

Also let me say that one shotting mooks in the head with a shotgun is damn satisfying.

That it is! lol Same goes for using a shotgun to break stuff.

Thanks for the explanation man. And yeah pump action shotguns are my favourite types of guns so it's really nice when they're satisfying to use in games. I like Fenny too. I pulled Acacia Redacted and I'm interested in using her because she seems she might be the Watanabe of the game with the dual daggers. So I'm looking forward to using her.

Ah, so we're getting Where the Vernal Winds Never Blow and the CNY limited banner instead of the Invitation to Wine rerun next in Arknights. Event starts on the 28th. We will probably get that after then, followed by A Death in Chunfen and any mini-events around it. Then there's the Guiding Ahead rerun and the Monster Hunter collab, unless there are more unexpected schedule changes.
