The marketing for anime/video game franchise Senran Kagura can best be described with two adjectives: unabashed and boob-centric. In the past, the ninja girl series has promoted itself with breast-scented cell phone straps and boob-themed ramen, and now comes yet another edible salute to the series mammary fixation.
While Senran Kagura is bursting with busty characters, the latest tie-up salutes the prodigious chest of fair-skinned, icy eyed Yumi.
Joining forces with Senran Kagura is Kuppel, an independent bakery located in Tokyos Momoi neighborhood which has created the Yumi Strawberry Boob Bread, seen here being lovingly cradled by Kuppel owner and head baker (also chest baker) Masanori Takahashi.
In producing the Boob Bread, Takahashi says he was careful to bake the pastry, made with condensed milk, at just the right temperature and for just the right amount of time so that it would maintain its invitingly soft texture as its placed in the diners mouth, and also so that the cooked dough would have the same snowy color as Yumis un-suntanned complexion. While Kuppel has sold Boob Bread in the past, this marks its first collaboration with Senran Kagura, and the strawberries seem to be a titillating new touch added for the Yumi version.
Sometimes, its hard to tell just how sincere Senran Kagura is with its marketing (this is, after all, the same franchise that once released a video claiming it was going to make a breast-shaped, head-mounted video game controller). This time, though, its completely serious, as the Yumi Strawberry Boob Bread will indeed be available for purchase at Kuppel starting November 28, with buyers also getting a special Senran Kagura sticker.
Ordinarily, itd be a little embarrassing to get a for-kids style prize with your purchase of sweets, but odds are fans who are comfortable enough with their preferences to buy breast-shaped pastries arent the type of people to feel awkward about anything.
