Topic | Just picked up Rune II |
Krow_Incarnate 11/15/19 12:41:15 AM #3: | No problem. For a little bit of background, the first Rune was a PVP action game based on Viking folklore. I believe it had a campaign, but I didn't get too far. This game has a 100% singleplayer campaign if that's what you're interested in. It's definitely a little rough around the edges. It seems pretty ambitious which is nice, but it definitely has that open-source game type of feel to it. You'll see what I mean in a moment. I started recording a few minutes into it and I have about 30 mins of me wandering aimlessly trying to figure out how to make a boat lol But you do get to see a bit of the combat and animations. One thing to note is that it definitely feels like it was made with a M+KB in mind. The controller was kind of awkward and I'm pretty sure there's no way to open the journal directly through it. Other than that, it's got some performance hiccups which I read about from the few reviews I did find. It isn't the prettiest looking game, but that doesn't bother me too much. When my footage is uploaded, you'll see it on mostly Ultra settings. I put Shadows on medium and draw distance on High. Textures and Particles are both on Ultra. Everything else is Very High. I don't totally regret my purchase, but I am glad I opted for the basic version whereas I was originally considering getting one of the two deluxe editions. I still want to see what all the game has to offer, because that appears to be quite substantial at first glance. We'll see after I get over the hump of the first island. --- Hail Hydra ...
