Anyways, duo units have been a thing in JP for a while, and EN literally just got their first one with the current event that ends today. Since then, there's been an Iroha/Yachiyo "final battle" duo unit that was the 2nd anniversary limited event in JP and a Rika/Ren Christmas duo unit along with the Rena/Kaede swimsuit duo unit you posted. Darc also later got an alternate "final form" that essentially turned Liz into her stand (and spawned plenty of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure references) but that's not technically a duo unit since only Darc's sprite appears on the battlefield.
