Half of my job will be me knowing important people who are willing to donate their time towards seeing if the shit I wrote is good or not. I could write from the comfort of my home nonstop, but if I dont get anyone to look at what Ive written, I wont get anywhere. And Ive tried submitting to writing fellowships. I havent even gotten past the first round of any of them because I dont have representation or a letter of recommendation from someone in the industry.
