Topic | Lego announces their first $1000 set |
masterpug53 09/05/25 11:30:31 AM #57: | I was wondering whether or not this was their first $1,000 set; I just started getting Legos again a few years ago and missed most of the 00's and 10's sets. Anyway, yeah, people have been bitching about the price of Legos for as long as I've been alive, so that's basically white noise at this point. However, SW Legos do have some pretty egregious markups even compared to other licensed sets - I think the recent Yavin base set was the worst offender in terms of pricetag v. brick count - and this isn't much of an exception. SW sets have also caught a lot of flak lately for being...uninspired, to put it politely (to put in rudely, they're basic-ass gray backdrops with a couple exclusive minifigs for 50 bucks a pop). So yeah, I've pretty much sworn off SW sets since I got back into Lego. The last one I had my eye on was the Mos Eisley Cantina, but the wave of price hikes a couple years ago killed my interest in that one. --- Simple questions deserve long-winded answers that no one will bother to read. ...
