Remember when all you had to do was buy a disc of Microsoft Word but now you have to pay monthly? How about Nintendo online? Hell, even HP printers (and they'll shut your printer off with a remote if you fail to pay it). In the long run, companies make more money from subscription payments than one-time payments, meanwhile the costs of all these services adds up for us. It's like how teachers would assign you multiple pages of homework without consideration for the multiple pages of homework from your other classes. Adobe pisses me off the most. I'm so jealous of my boss because she's grandfathered in from when it was affordable. I need creative cloud for graphic design school and it's 30 dollars a month.
