We had the lead over Ukraine, but we still lost. We came back and took the lead from England, but still lost.. But we sure kicked some french arse and ended the championship with a victory. Much better to end it that way than to get pwnd by Spain..

I SWEAR OUR MEDIA REALLY NEED TO STOP TALKING ABOUT THEIR UTTERLY IRRELEVANT GHOST GOAL - IT WAS OFFSIDE ANYWAY. THIS ISN'T VENGEANCE FOR 2010, THIS ISN'T VENGEANCE FOR ANYTHING BUT THE BAD DECISION THAT CAME 10 SECONDS BEFORE
i have never seen a game where UEFA's 5th/6th official made a difference. get goal line technology already and stop wasting our time with pointless crap.

But question why they are pointless - don't just say "they are pointless". Why are they pointless? There's no logical reason for them to be.
Just reiterating for those of you who think Ukraine should have gotten a goal - the play should have been pulled back for offside. Justice was served there and then. This has nothing to do with 2010.

Fine! I'll go to the store and get your Goddamn drain cleaner!
they are pointless because their power is so restricted that they can't really do anything meaningful, and the only situations where they would be relevant are situations which are extremely difficult to judge anyway.
From: Naye745 | #209 they are pointless because their power is so restricted that they can't really do anything meaningful Then take the leash off, it's very simple. UEFA AREN'T because they want to say they've tried this before implementing goal-line tech. They don't make decisions and there is no reason for them not to make a decision.
You talk about them being "relevant in only a few situations" and then want goal-line tech - something only relevant 1 game in like 50?

AW taking a BIG swipe at Serie A today. It's incredibly ballsy to say that when a Serie A team just dumped us outta the CL, but nonetheless it's hard to argue with him about the prestige level, especially with all the match fixing BS going on over there.
And let's be honest there's no way VP was gonna leave us to go play for Juve.

Just thinking this was probably the most satisfying group stage for England since at least 96. Maybe 2002 with the win over Argentina but the frustrating draws with Sweden and Nigeria kind of ruined it.
Funny how we have the same points as we had in 2006 but this is much, much better. We were very mediocre against Paraguay, Trinidad and not that good against Sweden either. We've certainly played with much more overall solidity in these games, imo. I think actually having a world class keeper helps.

Although they did allow us to come back 4-3 soo...
Just got back from being mobilized for an exercise. Did anybody cared when Drogba went to China? Or did anybody cared when Flamini got released from Milan? Surprised that back door Portugal made it toi the semis.
If Spain and England win, the good-guy/bad-guy ratio in the semi-final will be 50/50. France and Italy both winning would probably mean I stop watching, or something close to it.
Spain/Germany is going to be a technical masterpiece. Quick question:
Has Spain amassed the greatest collection of midfielders ever?
Van Fabregas Silva Xavi Iniesta
4 of those guys are top 7 midfielders at this very moment. Silva carried Man City for several stretches this season and made that machine go. Van Fabregas is God. Xavi and Iniesta have won Euro 2008/World Cup/Every Cup Imaginable.
