I really don't remember all that much. But I think I recall my friend playing a N64. I was like what is that machine thing?

Yeah I know I started in the N64 era.

Neighboor kid gave us an old atari. I wasnt that impressed with it and didnt play it much. Then for xmas we got a nes and everything changed.

My older sisters had an NES so they introduced me young. However the first console that was "mine" was the Sega Genesis.

We had an NES and Genesis growing up, so I played those a lot. Then I got an N64 for Christmas one year, and the rest is history.

dad took me to an arcade.
still remember my first game, Rally-X. my first comment on the game was "daddy why is the car farting?".

One of my older cousins had a PS2 and would let me and all the other younger boys play Gran Turismo and Vice City when wed come over for family parties.

My dad played games he had an NES, I learned all the warp pipes and hidden blocks from him along with cheats from other games.

Sega Genesis was definitely one of my favorite systems. It was actually the first system I owned for myself, though I'll admit it is difficult to imagine having such a great childhood and growing up to put olives on burritos.

I have vague memories of arcades and some Atari stuff, but being four years old and my mom's boyfriend bringing home and hooking up an NES is clear as day.

my cousin had a NES and played some contra and the helicopter game and some other stuff when i visited. it was alright. i liked punchout the most. i got pretty damn far for a 5yr old. soda popinksi was my wall.

While I'd say I've known about video games since I was three or four (early 1980's) I think my first major exposure to them came when I was about five when my dad picked up for cheap from a friend of his a Mattel Intellivision and about twenty or so games. It was a toy for my dad at the time, but it was my equivalent of a sexual awakening with video games. I played far more, asked for more Intellivision games for the holidays (despite it already being a dead platform, but it's not like we could track that back then).

I never actually owned an NES, but I'd played enough on friends' consoles to know I wouldn't be "an outside person" in my youth.

Then my dad got a home PC (a Tandy 1000 HX) and I got introduced to the ideas of PC gaming and Basic coding. That held until the Super NES came out and I was able to get in on that. Game Boy shortly afterwards, and the first console I bought with my own money was the Nintendo 64, and there was no looking back from there.

I'm sure I own no fewer than 800 games across all the platforms I've owned. Then there's the writing and stuff that I do, so yeah.

There were always video games in my house. I had older siblings, and my father was always picking up old consoles and computers from garage sales.

My first two gaming memories were seeing my father play with a Vectrex, and watching my brother play Zelda: LTTP.

I don't know how old I was, maybe 3 or 4 years. My dad had a portable computer with an Artillery type of game. Never knew the name of it, but I do remember it was in a floppy disk (5 1/4").

Older brother wanted an NES. I was 4 or 5 years old. In the long run I ended up taking complete ownership of the thing. I liked it way more than he did.

Seeing various cousins, aunts, and uncles playing Super Mario Bros. on the NES.

I got a Gameboy for my seventh or eigth birthday and my cousin was addicted to Super NES back in the day, those two things were the spark that got me into them.

Grandma had an N64 and Super Mario 64. Parents bought one for us after as well. Been gaming ever since.

My brother got a NES in the early 90s. I watched him play Super Mario Bros/Duck Hunt and Skate or Die from my playpen on Christmas morning. There's a picture of this somewhere.

Eventually I got old enough to play games like Super Mario, TMNT Manhattan Project, Bucky O'Hare, Madden, SoR2 and Sonic 3, with my bro. Good times :)

Seeing so many stories of older relatives (especially moms/grandmothers/aunts) is really cool!

My first memory was around 5/6, I was at the house of my dad's friend and he showed us a game called Mask of the Sun on the Apple 2E. Didn't actually get sucked in till years later (8/9) when my dad got us an XT and some of the first Sierra "quest" games - King's Quest etc Mostly played adventure games till high school, when I got into RTS with C&C and WC 2

My cousin gave us his old NES with Mario/Duck Hunt.
