Transgenders are real.
The problem is that since it has become more acceptable and more known lately, some people with different kinds of mental health problems convinced themself that this is what they were, this had to be the reason why they are not feeling well. Once they have transcended, everything will be fine.
...and it turn out that it didnt, that they had some other issues that needed to be fixed.

So we need to be better at sorting out people that are transgendered from people that just believe so.

That makes sense. It's not like that's a denial of transpeople, but the acceptance culture is a bit too on the side of "go for what will make you feel good in the short term." Their feelings may not be false, but they may be too quick to rush into something, thinking that it holds all the answers.

I dont think anyone with half a brain is surprised to hear that not all treatments work on everyone.

But anyone using this as a way to say trans people shouldnt transition is gross. Be happy in your own body is literally impossible for some people, and transitioning is the only thing that saved their life.

The article even says some people still feel dysphoria. It's not like it's saying that thousands of perfectly healthy cis people were forced to go through gender transistion, so it's not even great anti-trans ammo. Just says that not all treatments work for trans people and that some people may have issues that aren't gender dysphoria.

Then what about the ones regretting it? Your dodging around it. Happy for the ones for that it didn't bother them, but for those ones that went ahead and did it and now regret it that its too late to go back the other way depending how extensive that surgery is.

And yes I'm calling it mutilation of the body, and I apply that to anything that is extreme (not just a trans operation).

You were. Youre suggesting that we stop a very successful procedure because less than 1 percentage of people who undergo the procedure regret it. Youre ignoring the benefits of transitioning and Im suggesting that you actually listen to trans people.

I'm not disregarding your success stories or else I would have said something else, but for the ones that didn't fare well from this then what are they going to do at this point, and how are you going to help them?
