Affirmative Action is a good idea in theory, and its in no way racist, but in practice its been awful for years. I heard Stephen A Smith talk about how its helped white women more than anyone else, and was blown away to learn this is actually true. There is, sadly, a very long history of white people co-opting positive and organic black movements and twisting them around.

Those are not protected classes. Race is. Affirmative action is specifically racist because it judges by race. People who have superior metrics would lose spots due to simply not being the correct race. That is racism and pretty undebatable.

Also, your examples are terrible and don't really apply anyways.

It's a class that is protected from discrimination. It really isn't a good equation to race, sex, religion, etc. It is about providing accomodations to those who are disabled and not discriminating against them specifically. It isn't really about discriminating against the not disabled. Him even equating a disability to race is arguably racist as well in that scenario as it implies being a certain races is a disability, but I will just chalk it up to using a poor example which never made sense.

Anything that takes into account race and treats people differently based on race is by definition racist.

That's not the definition of racism. Racism is specifically prejudice or discrimination based on race. Affirmative action is not "hey white dude, get the fuck out of here, you're inferior because you're white." Racism would be specifically setting out to deny people rights/opportunities based on race. Looking to specifically help people that have already been unfairly denied rights/opportunities based on race is not racism.

You are trying to deny the basic principles of what racism is. It is the treating people differently based on their race. It's the most basic principle and form.

You can say, but no it has to be something negative.

Well, if you treat someone differently solely on race, you have affected someone negatively. You just didn't do it directly, which doesn't excuse it.

You are arguing that racism should be fought with racism to counterbalance it, instead of arguing for the elimination of racism in the first place.

Again, most things that people think are racism (at the root) are actually economic disparity issues. Economic disparity issues we could fix if Republicans and Democrats didn't both specifically have you hoodwinked to ignore it for your dumb polarized causes. Democrats would love for you to focus on race instead of economic disparity while they continue to keep the disparity alive. While Republicans would love to keep you focusing on your protecting the middle class, while they continue the economic disparity at the top.

Both parties are trying to achieve the same things with different ways to pull the blindfold over your eyes. And both parties feed directly into it.
