Just about everyone who isn't Georgia looks worse than expected this year, so yes they can in fact be that bad.

(And I guess Cincy, but I was more thinking P5 specifically.)

He caught it outside of the end zone and his momentum kept him going. I'm pretty sure that's a touchback still but he was probably worried it wasn't.

So Iowa is definitely finishing this season with 4 losses and another mediocre bowl game.

In other words a typical Ferentz year. Man I wish they would even pretend to not be content with this level of success.

Minnesota almost never beats Iowa nor Wisconsin though. I forget how they did a couple years ago during the Penn State/Auburn win year, but I am pretty sure Iowa and Wisconsin still won.

Big Ten Championship is most likely gonna be Wisconsin vs. the TOSU/MSU winner.

As a Badger fan, I'd say we took too long to find our groove. If we played the way we did today in obliterating Iowa, we can beat anyone. Yes, I know Iowa was overrated, but they still should've been ranked - at least until we destroyed them. The score indicates the game was closer than it actually was. Iowa didn't get a first down for almost the entire first half. They're gonna overcorrect, use Northwestern for practice, and probably stymie Minnesota. Minnesota's only way is to beat both Iowa and Wisconsin and I don't see that happening.

Back to the Badgers, I still don't think we're that good of a team because of how abysmal our offense is compared to our defense. We have what may be the best defense in the country but a slipshod offense prone to making mistakes. Defense means nothing if you keep giving the ball away in your own territory.

My approach to Minnesota sports is I will believe it when I see it. Twins, Vikings, Wild, Gophers (don't watch Wolves because ROFL). I know better than to get too caught up.

Minneapolis Miracle? 35-7
Twins win a division? Hello Yankees
Gophers beat PSU/Auburn? COVID Season says hi.

I stay a fan under the assumption I don't buy into "this is the year" bullshit. Keeps me somewhat sane. Not sure if that is being pragmatic, cautiously pessimistic, or both. Then again, I only follow the Wild and Vikings with fervor compared to the others.

I'm not sure undefeated Wake leaps them. They have a comparable SOS and Cincy has the best win.

But two loss Oregon, two loss Ohio State, and two loss Bama are all out. That's what they'd have to root for and an OU loss to be safe.

Michigan State deserves that spot. Oregon being one up over Ohio State is to be expected given the head-to-head. Cincy will probably be playing MAD being out of the top 5.

The top 5 can lose at anytime though. Cincinnati simply has to survive the regular season. If it's Georgia/Alabama for the SEC title, another loss knocks Bama out, but probably not Georgia. OSU and MST determine the Big 10 assuming no losses until they face each other; each one could be upset in the championship game, but are ahead of the other half of the Big 10. Oregon probably has a clear path unless they drop one more game.

Let's just crown Wake Forest for the conversation of it all.

Oh hey, I called the Georgia 1 (obviously) and Alabama 2.

Feel bad for Cinci. Their ND win is better than Alabama's best win and Ohio State's best win (and I'm an OSU fan). And it's close enough to Oregon's win that their loss should drop them below Cinci.

By the end of the season Cinci were never going to get in without tons of help but these rankings are supposed to be based on what has happened to date. And at least 2-3 of the teams above them do not deserve to be above them based on what has happened so far in the season. By end of sure maybe but right now? Not really imo.

Edit: This is based on margin of victory / game control not being listed as one of the criteria in the rankings.

it's why OU is 8th despite being unbeaten
