I dont. Ive become a creature of habit when it comes to music. Just listen to the same stuff the vast majority of the time.

Nothing wrong with that tbh. Apple Music has radio functionality but I haven't really listened in on any shows, none seem to be covering genres I'm interested in.

I don't seek out new music anymore. If I hear a song somewhere and like it, it gets added to the playlist.

Oh yeah, this as well. I forgot to add that above, though I use it more rarely.

Apple Music has two kinds of radio. One is your basic Spotify style station that you generate, and the other is actual radio. I basically use the generated stations based on artists, or my overall profile to find new music on occasion.

Honestly? Either spotify or asking you fine people of Current Events.

Honestly? I pretty much don't anymore.

Recommendations from friends: I used to be in a band, so Ill often check in to see what my former bandmates are listening to, or what people I met in the music scene are listening to.

Pandora Radio: I generally use Spotify to stream music, but when specifically looking for something new that is similar to stuff I already like, Ive never found anything that works quite as well as Pandoras algorithm.

Spotifys generated playlists: usually Release Radar, as I dont follow many music news outlets anymore, but also sometimes on an artists page youll find either algorithm or user-generated playlists they are included on that have other similar sounding music, but those tend to be very hit or miss.

Radio and Spotify.

Lots of different places. When I was younger, I would sometimes see CDs with interesting cases, and buy them These days, sometimes radio. Also, lots of video game stuff. Anime, YouTube, and even Apple Music. Sometimes, if I have one song by an artist and then release a new one, apple will tell me about it. So, while its not a brand new artist, it might be from an artist who I normally would not have looked up for other songs Also, friends when they play music. Or if I hear a song anywhere that I like (YouTube video, podcast, etc)

Mostly Youtube, certain topics from GFAQs or the VGM/synthwave discords I'm in.

Surprised at the # of people who listen to the radio still. Haven't listened to it since I got a solid FM transmitter for my car

I follow a handful of playlists that update weekly with new shit and I just give everything a listen.

"New Music Tuesday" at my local Tower Records.

There's a few Youtube channels I follow that post new music on the daily. They always have links to the band's Bandcamp page or other places that sell their stuff.

There's a weekly 2 hour radio show that I like as well. They're always playing new diy punk from around the globe.

I used to really be into zines like Profane Existence, Maximum RocknRoll, Slug and Lettuce etc. But not so much these days. Everything's online now.

Youtube. That's it.

Youtube. Gets me away from the crappy mainstream stuff on the radio. All the good stuff that should be mainstream on radio wont make it cause they wont sellout. I hate radio.

Spotify algorithm has been my main way for a while

*notes the names of a bunch of albums of interest, then goes to Spotify to listen to one of them*

...

Circa 50 minutes later
"That album was pretty great!"
*checks artists page on Spotify and their top ten songs, adds the albums they're from to a listen-later playlist*
*also checks the artist's rateyourmusic page and takes note of all the albums with a decent-to-high user ratings, especially bolded albums*
"Say, what genre of metal was that, though?"
*checks artist's genre tags*
"I may want to explore these genres and see if they click with me..."
*checks genre pages, takes the names of the top-rated albums of each genre*
"I'll listen to one of them soon!"

Mostly YouTube recommendations and co-workers.

mostly through random playlists on Spotify or recommendations from Spotify and friends.

Spotify, friends recommendations, and lately one of my favorite ways to discover new music is on Bandcamp; I'll look through other people's collections who have similar tastes and just sample some stuff.

I also try to listen to some of my favorite artist's favorite artists. It's a better way to approach discovering new music rather than trying to find artists that SOUND like your favorite artist.

???-2003: friends, family, school
2003-2008: radio, windows media player, random internet directories filled with mp3s
2008-2012: youtube crate digging and pandora
2012-present: self-made app for youtube crate digging using pandora-like interface, minus the obnoxious ads
