I always thought the refight room in X7 was cool too.
First bit is a basic level with a basic song, then suddenly this place shows up and the song changes to that ringing sound. I think they recolor the boss rooms too. I only ever beat 2 and 3. Never played anything beyond 4 though. I have the collections and on my MiSTER i have them. I also have 9 on PS3 and found it ungodly difficult.
