Just the fact that the staff members of SERAPH were getting... digitized and like, being absorbed into her, and she wanted to do that to the whole fucking planet. AND WAS SO CLOSE to getting it. Insane.

Since we're just days away from Morgan's banner (Friday, I think) figure I'd let you know about the User Survey thing FGO holds annually in case you didn't know.

It was mentioned in one of the in-game news things so you may have saw it there, but if you fill out and submit a survey they give out, you get 4 Summon Tickets. Just pull up the in-game news article for it (the news tab should be on the upper left of the main Terminal screen, the user survey is probably a couple entries down) and it should tell you what to do.

Thanks for the heads up, got the survey tickets. I'm totally ready for Friday.

Also I'm well into Agartha now. It's not as bad as everyone said but it's still not good. Does Fergus get worse, coz he's not super offensive just yet. Only a little useless. Columbus' betrayal being obvious aside, he hasn't been too bad just yet. About to head to the Nightless City though so let's see what happens.

The problem with Fergus isn't necessarily that he's bad. He's just extremely uninteresting and gets a lot of screentime, which in some ways is worse. He's treated as a deep philosophical thinker and only comes to the most inane conclusions.

I was kinda in the same boat at first. But I really despise the ending. It's every aspect I hate about FGO's storytelling wrapped up into one nice shit package.

Agartha's terribleness is largely in its ending.

I have found myself hitting skip a couple times which is the first time throughout the entire story so far that I've done that. Fergus is a lil repetative.

What do you guys think I'm missing in key areas and what do you think I could do with focusing on. Obviously I think my roster is cooking but there's always room for improvement.

Sabers: Barghest is a solid unit. Prince of Lan Ling is a fairly decent support unit. I'd say for a ST Saber your best option would be Caesar. Bedivere will be fine for now but because he is story-locked getting extra copies of him for NP levels is just a complete pain. Mine is still NP1, for example. Caesar won't have that problem and should easily hit NP5.

Archers: You're good. I'd recommend leveling Arash (and finishing Euryale.) Arash is great for farming. His NP kills him which can actually be useful to delete a wave and then let a new Servant take his place to support the others on your team.

Lancers: Eresh and Cu could have you covered but Parvati is also good as is Valkyrire but you don't need them with Eresh there. Of these, maybe level Leonidas a taunter.

Riders: Ushi is good for ST. Not really a great AoE option here for you. Marie/Medusa can handle things for now I guess but this is definitely a spot you can improve on. Recommend levelling George because is an A+ taunt unit which lets you draw all aggro to him and away from your DPS/Support.

Casters: Waver is great as you know. The best DPS Casters are actually Berserkers lol. Paracelsus and Shakespeare can be decent supports. Cu Caster actually becomes really good after LB6 so he's a potential candidate. Don't see him listed so maybe you haven't gotten him yet but the FP Gacha can give you Chen Gong who is another good farming unit. His thing is that he has an AoE NP that does ST numbers but it kills your left-most Servant. Which, like Arash, can be useful to yeet a Support Servant after they've used all their buffs so the next one up can take their place (and get yeeted, etc)

Assassins: Like Casters, most of the best DPS Assassins are also "just use a Berserker lol" but I'd say this looks like the weakest group so far overall. Hundred Personas is okay and I think Carmilla can hit female enemies pretty hard (I don't have one cna't speak too well on this!)

Berserkers: Herc is great and assuming you get Morgan you're basically good here. Cu Alter and F/Z Lancelot are also good Berserkers.

Extra: Lobo is best doggo. His third skill can come in handy because it removes all buffs from the enemy which is useful at times. BB is good for healing and has a useful Stun that is very effective on Servants. Oberon is one of the best supports in the game. And Arc 1 Mash is a very good support herself.

tl;dr: Your roster looks pretty good for a relatively new player IMO. I'd say the weakest areas same to be Assassin (but Berserker can sorta cover here lol) and maybe a better AoE Rider option.

Basically, I think early going you want to look to get a solid Single Target and AoE Servant for each class. And then a few utility Servants like Waver, Mash, or Taunters (George, Leonidas)

I think it's easier if you just take screenshots on your phone and post them.

Key area will almost always be get Castoria and Koyanskaya.

Posting screenshots onto this website doesn't seem that easy.

And yeah, I've been trying to do the single target and AoE thing but also just going for characters I like in general. Bedivere being hard to NP up is going to make him a challenge but I absolutely adore him as a character so

For Casters, obviously Castoria is god tier but I genuinely like Merlin better, so if I don't get Castoria on this banner coming up where I'll be rolling for more Baobahn Sith, I'll probably wait for another crack at Merlin.

For assassin, I can see we've got a Kama banner coming up (with Kiara on it), in July, and I really really want Grey. It sucks that I joined just when her event was ending, but hopefully I get a way to pull her. I also know there's a Koyanskaya banner at some point this year but it's not til December.

And yeah, good AoE Riders are few and far between. Could try and roll for Drake I guess?

Castoria/Merlin/DPS is basically the meta team, currently. It does great against almost every challenge quest, so if you get a friend Castoria, you can use it with your own DPS.

So, Gray (and all other welfare units - except Saber Lily who is just a weird case) are never available in any gacha but Japan did eventually institute a means of obtaining them for people who missed out on them. They've been releasing them in batches of about 4 every now and then so far. Gray is in the 5th one which is should arrive for us (we haven't even got the first such batch yet) in... October 2025.

As for AoE Riders - Habetrot is actually a really good one and you get the first copy for free after beating LB6 (additional copies in the FP Gacha but rare)

Drake is also one of the better ones as is Rider Da Vinci who is probably the best. I wouldn't necessarily go out of your way to go pull for one - Marie and Medusa can handle a bit and as always Berserkers can lift the weight a lot of the time just it was a spot that stuck out to me. Honestly, even now I feel like I don't really have a great option there outside of Habetrot - you're right there aren't too many great ones.

And Castoria/Merlin/Morgan is nicknamed Team Avalon and is basically immortal in nearly all circumstances (basically its only weakness is if the enemy can remove your buffs). It's the setup I default to when I just don't want to think about strategy LOL.

Like they've been releasing super buffed versions of some Lostbelt boss battles (like three-four 1M+ HP break bars) and for most of them I just threw that team at them because they just don't die. It practically feels like cheating lol.

Grailed Habbycat to 100, append 10 on NP.
Her refund is pretty neat.

Carmilla is a really good female boss killer. She might help a lot against a few bosses in Shimousa. But Morgan can probably handle them too, so it's probably not that important.

But yeah id say you're mostly pretty good. I'd maybe work on Riders and Assassins with some sort of priority but not that big of one

Castoria/Merlin/Himiko works pretty similarly but with more of a focus on Buster Crit cards.
It's a very slow comp though.

I don't feel like CGs are rare. I'm going over my screenshot folder and LB6 had something like thirty to forty at a quick glance. It's a fairly decent chunk. As for games with equivalent text amounts...I frankly cannot think of any. FGO story updates just dwarf anyone else's stuff. Lostbelt 6 was 600k words, for reference (to its detriment IMO cause it was too padded, but hey). Who else is pumping out even half that many story-relevant lines into their content updates?

Heaven Burns Red releases story at about the same rate (it took me about the same amount of time to get through HBR's C4A2 as it did LB6) and it's fully voiced, including for all events (which probably have more story content than an FGO event?). But it also has a Steam version so I don't have to care about file bloat.

As for CGs, LB6 was a very welcome change in that regard, but I don't know if there had been 30-40 in all of the Lost Belts to that point.

(though FWIW I don't put that much stock in being fully voiced. I tend to click to the next line before the voice acting finishes anyways. With that said, when my first gacha were Hoyoverse stuff and then HBR, discovering that those were very much the exceptions and not the rules in terms of voice acting in gacha was admittedly a surprise.)

Team Avalon is not meta, its just an easy comp that clears consistently. There's a difference between these things. Meta is when I grab my np5 Arjuna Alter and cave a cq's face in in the minimum amount of turns possible. Generally speaking, the game very heavily incentivizes going mad fast, not slowing down for anything -- as evidenced by how Castoria/Morgan/Merlin showed its faults vs Cernunnos. It'll be enough for just about anything for a while though.

Summer Ibuki I think needs a few NP levels to get the ball rolling to the ridiculous levels?
Summer Musashi's going to be looking inadequate until her rank up.

I ended up getting her, Anastasia, Nightingale, Beowulf, a third copy of Wu, and a third kaleidoscope in 13.5 multis. Was cutting it close (down to 15 SQ and 38 tickets), and was my second least successful banner (7/10 have been 6 multis or under, somehow), but I'm happy, even if it probably means no Castoria.

Sometimes it does be like that. I got Melusine on my very first ticket a few months ago on her banner's rerun. Though I was targeting multiple NPs so I still ended up almost cleaned out in the end lol.

Only other time I hit an SSR on the very first pull was Sitonai on an Extra-classes only banner when I wasn't even aiming for her (I was just looking to nab a copy of Salieri who was literally the only 3-star that qualified)

Yeah. Generally speaking you can place Servants into three categories - general pool, story-locked, and limited.

General pool servants - of which Anastasia is one - are possible to get in pretty much every banner unless it's a very specific one like ones they used to run where it was "Only Saber Servants" or ones they run around Valentines/White Day where it's only female/male Servants respectively. When you pull an SSR on a banner with a rate-up there's an 80% chance it's the banner servant but a 20% it's one of the many SSRs in the general pool.

Story-locked - Servants which are made available in the always-on story banner once you progress far enough in the story. Cu Alter is an example, becoming available after beating America. As is Bedivere after beating Camelot. These tend to be some of the most annoying Servants to get because unless they specifically have a rate-up banner - which outside of their debut tends to be rare - you're only going to have a chance to get them on the story banner and your odds of getting that specific Servant are trash.

Limited - Servants that aren't available in the general pool or story banner and are only available when they run a banner for them. Morgan is one of these. Despite sounding harder to get than story-locked Servants they have banner reruns far more often than that group so in practice they're "easier" to get - but you simply have to wait for one of their banners. No amount of luck will get you them anywhere else because they simply aren't there.

And finally, technically there are also FP Gacha Servants and Welfares. FP Gacha Servants are almost all the 1 and 2*s plus Saber Lily and Habetrot (who is also story-locked behind Avalon but being in the FP Gacha is a blessing compared to the others.) And Welfares, like Gray, were discussed before. They are never in a gacha and can be obtained from completing the event that gives them out - a rare few, like BB and Altera (Santa) you can grab the event from the Rare Prism shop and get them that way but those are the exceptions. Also as mentioned, they eventually institute a system where they make them available without needing the events (for instance I'm missing some of the earliest ones because I started playing like 2.5 years into the game's release) but that only begins next year and they are releasing them a few at a time (there was actually another batch yesterday - included Summer Ishtar who was basically my AoE Rider carry in my early days. When we were talking about AoE Riders I actually looked to see if she was in any of the batches and she wasn't there which surprised me but now she is lol)

If I wasn't against most of the summer variants I could maybe try to get summer Ishtar for my AOE rider. Her or summer mordred.
