I don't know if I've got it in me to go for all that, but it is abundantly clear to me that the wife needs a couple more NP levels to be really cooking.

I just don't know if I can justify spending all this SQ when I know there's no pity at the end of the banner for it. I would like to get Wu Zetian and I'm sure there would be some other decent pulls, but I think I'm better off just waiting for Castoria's banner next month because on that one, I can also try to NP5 Baobahn Sith.

Oh jesus Barghest is also in that banner nvm I'm gonna fire everything I've got at that. I can get Castoria and level up two of my other best units.

If you want to just do 90 or 90+ nodes maybe, sure. If you want to do 90++ you better fuckin bring kitted out units. And given the requirements for class score boards down the line, there's a fairly strong incentive for doing those harder nodes, frankly. I cannot overstate just how large a boost class score gives to making weak units much more usable in general. The rising tide lifts all ships.

My gf had the exact same experience with Voyager. She adores Voyager (the actual space probe) as a concept and even has a copy of the Golden Record. Truly a top-tier catalyst.

I will warn you that at NP1, Morgan's damage is extremely potato unless she hits her anti-Man trait.

On Supports or (most) soloists? Absolutely, NP1's all you need.

For Arjuna Alter? His damage is so ridiculous that he can get away with NP1.

For most other dps? You really want NP2 if they're going to outperform 3-stars or decently-high-NP 4-stars.

Which 3 star berserkers are outperforming Morgan? None of them have kits that are nearly as useful.

It's not berserkers (because iirc there just aren't aoe 3 star zerks) but Salieri tends to outshoot Morgan at NP1 and they have similar use cases. Can't overstate the power of getting to use black grail thanks to efficient loopage, truly.

I do like Archuria NP2 and above.
When a skill drains NP, having over 100% in the bank helps.

It's a 5* Craft Essence which is essentially the best one in the game. It massively increases NP damage at the trivial cost of 500 damage to the Servant equipped with it per turn. It also has a higher ATK value than most other CEs. And Oberon's S3 applies to it as well - doubling its already massive effect.

Basically the only other Craft Essence in the conversation for best is Kaleidoscope - which gives the equipped Servant 80% charge at the start of battle (100% if MLB) but at high-end content the damage is generally much more important. For a newer player Kscope is probably the better/more useful CE.

NP1 Morgan, same conditions (koyan/koyan/oberon, Cranking MLB): 301k turn 3

It's worse in the pre-oberon turns because Oberon's buster up helps make up for Morgan's dogshit skill scaling via Koyan

Morgan really, truly is nothing worth talking about at np1 if she's not hitting Man. Her Man damage is 610k by contrast under the same parameters, just so you get an idea of what kinda gap we're working with. Does this mean Morgan sucks? No, but she's not Arjuna Alter and cannot just be assumed to outshoot everyone simply by existing.

EDIT: Should note that I did not give Salieri the automatic Castoria NP he's entitled to for the privilege of being Arts either, which would push his damage higher. I just went with a super basic setup. If you're curious, non-MLB BG Salieri still outshoots Morgan, and that's literally an F2P setup down the line.

NP5 sure does, and he's way easier to get NP5 that any other story-locked since up until Xu Fu he's been the only 3-star Extra Class, so rolling on GSSR or other class-locked banner guarantee copies of him for 3-star servant slots.

Again, if Morgan hits trait, she's fine even at NP1, but she really needs the trait to hit meaningful NP damage levels. Only having one personal steroid is rough. That said, she can still crit like a monster with facecards since her s3 gives fantastic star absorb.

It's also worth noting that Morgan's best use case is for challenging content where she can effectively make the "immortal team" alongside Castoria and Merlin. I used it to cheese a ton of the Teslafest CQs.

Yeah Morgan's use case is that she farms anything Man type at NP2+ 100 (might need gfous too I didn't check) and has CQ utility. At NP1 her farming value is unremarkable, just like everyone else's.

So while it seems based off this discussion that getting the wife to NP2 with this banner since I got her one copy would be a fine idea, the fact that next month there is a banner coming up where three of the characters on it are massive hits for me seals the deal.

Morgan comes around again in November. I can save up for additional copies of her then. That seems reasonable yeah?

You can make a few more blue apples or farm pitifully inefficient dead week nodes a bit more, woo. And then for lotto events, you can be like what, 10-15% more efficient farming 90++. Both things are nice to do if you can but they really don't matter.

Uh, no, arts units just use BG literally everywhere because they hit thresholds through it. I play in JP and not just NA. The game is going to change dramatically with the upcoming summer event. 90++ is also not unnecessary, because, and I cannot emphasize this enough, you are going to need a shitfuckload of bond to interact with class score boards. My account that is years and years old had to go out of its way to roll extra berserkers (several! Plural!) just to hit the dang thresholds required. Bond isn't just more quartz, which is enormous, it is also an enormous boost to the power of your faves that lets them perform in ways they otherwise couldn't (to the point it flat out affects what is possible to omnifarm at the highest end, never mind that weaker units have their kits flat out fixed by gaining 30% steroids). You want as much of it as you can get.

Salieri is an automatic np5 if you roll GSSR on any extra class banners like, twice. He shows up en masse because he's the only 3 star that can even drop (well, Xu Fu will pollute the pool soon, but not by a meaningful amount.

Also no, Morgan is not more useful than AA. AA hits thresholds vs literally everything, Morgan doesn't. Again, literal personal experience from playing JP here -- AA eventually solves all farming because he will kill anything you ask him to kill. I legitimately just stopped using him these last two weeks because he finally hit bond 15 from farming every single event for years, but his setup doesn't hinge on the opposition suiting him. He will simply kill, and that will be that.

and people thought i was crazy when i had an excel spreadsheet that tracked bond level and bond needed to next level and formed parties around who was closest to levelup keep the bond train moving

A large majority of the endgame is optimizing farming teams lol

Also have a NP3 100 Space Ishtar but I tend to try and work out weirder comps first and rarely resort to falling all the way back to those two unless it's a lotto. I don't mind carding or slightly annoying battles if it's just natural AP.

It's a good time and a great ride so don't worry about it for now. My stance is fgo accounts go through stages of maturation, from rookie to human rights enjoyer (aka has card supports + ideally oberon) to consolidation to true endgame and it takes years to get to the endpoint unless you gigawhale. We chat about this just cause we've done the journey. Stopping to smell the roses is ~100% the correct play.

It is still Moriarty's for me. That moment where he leaps up and is silhouetted by the moon is sublime, and the dakka and SUBARASHIIIII that follows is wonderful. (I prefer the "pseudo-deployment" version) It helps that he also has my favorite overall visual design in the game.

Might have my favorite NP VA in the entire game alongside Oberon. Still traumatized when I spent 1200 SQ and didn't get her (ah, the pre-pity days were the worst.) But I hope to overcome that later this year with her next banner. But still gonna be risky in all likelihood since I don't expect to be heading into that with pity numbers after Summer LOL.

Lumino Calibur - Mysterious Idol X Alter (Absolutely love the BGM and was so happy that the TeslaCup Giga Coil CQ rerun retained the mechanic where if she was center the full version overrode the battle theme even if it doomed that particular run lol)
Vasavi Shakti - Karna (post-animation update)
Qlipoth Rhizome - Abby

Top 5 are probably pretty solid, after that there's some competition and depending on mood I might pick some others I think - like Moriarty's pre-true name revelation one

I don't understand the love for Abby's. It's so undercooked and confusing (not in a spooky way) to me.

Oh, forgot to say, it's not my favorite NP but this is my favorite chant outside of UBW:

Everything is like a momentary dream.

Really conveys the majesty of an entity great enough and powerful enough to make the entire rest of the roster combined look like a speck of galactic dust.

My three favorite NP animations are all over the place in terms of vibe when it comes to being "cool".

Third place goes to Jason. Every aspect of it makes me laugh.

Second place is Sanzang's. There's just something really cathartic about just punching something a bunch and then seeing a silly animation of your enemy flying into a mountain.

But first place is Zerkerlot. It's so god damn over the top and awesome.
