Yeah, somebody once found a Sega Saturn in a dumpster and it still worked. Those consoles are built like a tank.
That's why I think TC should get a Saturn

Between Animal Crossing and the whole lockdown thing (which Animal Crossing is extremely good for), Switches have been selling very well the past few months. I don't think this is in any way an artificial shortage so much as it is a major spike in demand, to say nothing of the impact the pandemic has had on manufacturing.

they're doing the same thing with ring fit adventure. it's the same scarcity dance nintendo does literally every single time they can get away with it, ok?

i remember they attempted, briefly, to pull the fake demand shit with the wii u, but even they couldn't keep that up, seeing how low sales were, ok?

I don't believe this because the exact same thing happened with the Wii. I went looking for one for months when they first came out and absolutely nobody had them.

Difference between the Wii and Switch is, this inst launch, and also most production facilities are not running at 100% to capacity because of COVID19.
Switch sales went way open at the end of March and throughout April and May.

To add to this. The shortage and increased demand is even worse right now due to scalpers who are using bots to purchase Switches. They sell out within minutes whenever they get restocked online due to this.

Until Covid you could easily get a Switch even during Black Friday buying sprees. The only time the Switches became hard to find is the first 3-6 months after it came out and now thanks to Covid. Acting like you can't find the console no matter what thanks to Nintendo never producing enough is a fucking joke.

Even now you can find the Switch Lite pretty easily so if you need a Switch and don't mind having the purely portable version you can get one.

I hate scalpers. I seriously hope no one buys from them and they get stuck with tons of switches...

Speaking of this, there was someone selling their switch and 13 games for $900 on facebook the other day lol.

They were like, "We are not gouging, that is less than we paid for them!!)."

Which, I checked, was technically true if you included tax, and valued them all as new on day 1.

I actually messaged them and explained that the average price right now for a used switch is $400 even WITH the gouging and that their used games could be bought through gamestop, sent to someones home directly and if they had the gamestop rewards would be about 50% of what they were charging.

They later dropped the price to $750 but still don't see anyone interested in it.

But yeah people are selling them for insane amounts. I saw some used switches going for $700 by themselves (no games) but....also nobody was interested in them lol. The $400 ones though get sold pretty regularly.

You could get a used switch for $200-$220 before the virus.

Its possible. But it also depends on which games. Some games were actually cheaper than others. Like I got some games on my switch that were $20 or less. But the bigger games are usually $50-$60...

most used switch games barely drop in price, even years later.

it's why i refuse to buy tropical freeze unless i can find an actual sale. not paying new game price for a several years old game that was ported

Sometimes they do go on sale, but first party games do rarely go down in price if you don't mind digital occasionally Nintendo will have a nice sale on one or two of their first party games.

I wanted to pick up a 3DS game.

We got it for $10 physical, albeit used.

$40 digital.

It's about a 3 1/2 year old game, an ultimate version and another game have come out since, and it'll probably be $40 5 years down the line. If you can buy digital games on 3DS 5 years from now.

I don't even like digital games compared to physical tbh. Just wanted to play it with my spouse. But I don't have that kind of money.
