I doubt it'll be as bad as No Man's Sky but it definitely won't live up to expectations. Bethesda is not the company they once were.

Bethesda games with the exception of Fallout 76 are generally good on some level right out the box, so I imagine it'll be decent and not something like No Man's Sky launching with barely any content.

It will probably be like every other massive scale game the last few years. It will suck for the first year or two and then it will be serviceable

Eh, even day 1, Skyrim was pretty fun, even with glitches. Same with the Fallout games.

Considering Bethesda's last "success" was 12 years ago with Skyrim (excluding Id games, which don't count for obvious reasons), I don't have high hopes. Very much a game that I will pick up if it seems good, but I am not getting it day 1.

Fallout 4 sold 12 million, but its been a minute there too. Elder Scrolls online has done well also. We'll see though, Starfield has been their baby for awhile and the big release everyone has been waiting for.

someone leaked a review sites private discord and they're talking about how starfields intro is kinda rough, but after that it becomes really fuckin good

then they talk about how they've seen extremely little glitches and bugs which even they say seems unusual

i genuinely wasn't actually hyped until i read through those

bethesda maryland hasn't done anything since skyrim, so their last success being skyrim makes sense, since it was the last one they did.

bethesda austin did fo76, which is incredibly fun but at launch was hella fuckin rough.

and that's it, that's the only two bethesda development studios.

it'll be a buggy average mess like most bethesda games, but there will always be mods and re-releases.

it looks like it might be at least somewhat of an enjoyable buggy mess, though.

aside from just being set in space and being able to fly spaceships, the two aren't alike in the slightest

one is an open world wrpg

the other is an open world survival game

no, see, the trolling has ramped up moreso with this than ever before because it's exclusive to one platform this time

At this point I feel like we all know what we're getting into with a Bethesda creation engine game. An immersive open world, a wealth of hilarious bugs, and (hopefully) a thriving modding scene.

But it's not using Gamebryo this time, honest!

Yeah I'm perfectly okay with modern games having more forgiveable, accessible ("easy") design. I don't have time to fight the same boss or play the same dungeon 40 times over. Just let me play the dang game. People who want a challenge can turn off accessibility features or even impose their own restrictions on themselves to make the game harder like Gamechamp does when he does shit like beating Mario Odyssey without jumping or whatever

There'll always be room for games like the Souls series that advertise themselves as a challenge, but most games should be accessible to anyone (robust menu options/controller settings/difficulty sliders etc)

i think, especially with bg3, that people are rabid for just a regular ass single player offline big ole rpg game

no mtx, no always online, no obviously cut content to sell to you later, non-ubisoft style

just a solid offline immersive game. it's kind of an excellent time for this to release tbh
