It was on my bucket list of games to at least try. So just wondering if it's good? Or should I don't bother?

You should play it for 80 minutes and decide that its been enough

It was fun for a beaten up but it's a very very short game. Feels like it should have had a bunch of branching paths and stuff like Way of the Samurai or something.

Dauragon was cool. Everything else sucked

There's one other cool thing, you can unlock all the characters including the enemies for a vs mode but you probably got no one to play with.

It was featured on the latest "What Happened" youtube show. Tobal #1 was mentioned too. Speaking of games no one talks about.

I think Inindo the Way of the Ninja might be more popular.

Idk, there were 3 characters iirc.

Yeah I saw that too earlier.

Back in high school it was all hype cuz of the Squaresoft logo and FF weeb character on the box but then all the talk online and in school died out weeks later lol.

The game itself is okay. You can do everything the game has to offer in a day or two. It's weirdly kind of cool to see character designs that get refined into future Square characters. Also just selecting Dauragan C Mikado over and over in vs mode to hear the announcer say it is fun

Also Square totally ripped off that guy to make Sora's design.

I was probably doing my own thing I obviously remember the PS2 being a big deal it sounds like the delayed release in NA hurt its sales as it was out in Japan already and ppl realized it was basically the Quiet Man but ummm hmmm not as funny.

Played it back when it came out. It was okay. Just a beat em up.

I remember my mom being pissed because the load times were crazy slow.... thats all I remember about it

Man I remember how hyped this game was.

It's not a bad game. It's solid for the time it came out. Worth a run. Take a day, just knock it out with all 3 characters/routes, and bam.

Also I'd played this after just getting burned on threads of fate and this game was the game that made me lose all faith in Squaresoft to make anything other than turn based RPGs.

Fun and simple beat em up.

Actually had a ton of fun with the vs mode and by friends back when it came out. Definitely worth the playthrough.

I remember it being hyped as a PS2 release game once, but I never followed it that closely or played it.

The graphics for a PS2 game though do look very good. Obviously not PS3 but the company aimed high on their dreams too bad the actual gameplay was like Water World.

Projared did a video on it that I thought was pretty comedic while informative.

I remember at the time watching the trailers of it blowing my mind how good it looked and boy does this game age badly.

I never watched too much Pro Jared but I have zero problem with him. The video I watched before Wut Huppen' was I think Josh Strife myb playing the Bouncer. That guy is generally stuck up but I sometimes have time to burn and low energy.

I remember enjoying the game. Might take a bit to get used to the analog button controls though.

As mentioned, the vs mode is pretty fun too if you can find people to play against.

Square tried so hard to get into fighting games and beat em up adventure games but failed so hard at them.

You have 3 different chars to use for The Bouncer's story mode. Different char, different moves, different path.

In Way of the Samurai 2, you use a single char with customizable appearance and moves. You roam the village and you are free to kill any named-character (non mooks) that you can find. The story will then adjust itself, sometimes in a really drastic way. For example, you can kill a big bad during roaming (iirc).

I know alot of people were disappointed but I enjoyed it a good deal. It might not hold up though. But I find beat em ups in any gen enjoyable.

i was such a huge square fanboy and i was so hyped for it because i expected something final fantasy like

huge fucking disappointment. game is like an hour long. there's barely anything to do but spam the same moves and go between cutscene to cutscene, which at the time were beautiful, but in square-fashion they were just lame and not memorable.

This and onimusha was the first 2 games I ever played on the PS2.....to be honest I actually liked the bouncer's gameplay whenever the gameplay actually happened. I remember the character models being super duper awesome to me and my brother at the time because it was like, you are actually playing as how characters look from something like the final fantasy 8 fmvs.

Its major negatives is that the game is stupid short, the plot is goofy (then again, most beat'em up plots were to be fair so this isn't much of a strike against it), and yeah there is a lot of loading there.

Got to say I'm enjoying it.
