Alright got the pools made and ready, but will wait until noonish tomorrow to release them. This next round is gonna be tough sledding, lotsa good ones left in every pool.

The only two people I would have really liked to see advance but didn't are Bryan Mills and Hank Hill. Honestly, everything else went well.

I missed a mistake in tallying last night (Mega Mana posted two +'s for the same character in one pool that I overlooked). Sorry. It changes no results, but only numbers. Still, the new results are...
Round 2, Pools 1-2 Results:
Ying Pool: 76 Wile E. Coyote (Looney Tunes) 66 Jafar (Aladdin) 63 Obi Wan Kenobi (Star Wars) 63 Snoopy (Peanuts) 54 Ariel (Little Mermaid) 52 Jecht (Final Fantasy X) 46 Gordon Freeman (Half-Life) 43 Arsene Lupin III (Lupin III) 41 Dory (Finding Nemo) 40 Crazy Dave (Plants vs. Zombies)
Yang Pool: 88 Batman (DC Comics) 68 Peter Venkman (Ghostbusters) 66 Vito Corleone (The Godfather) 65 Miles Edgeworth (Phoenix Wright Ace Attorney) 62 Michael Bluth (Arrested Development) 60 Princess Leia (Star Wars) 56 Dale Gribble (King of the Hill) 56 Marvin Martian (Looney Tunes) 47 Clayton Bigsby (Chappelles Show) 37 Sweeney Todd (Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street)
Ascension Pool: 113 Han Solo (Star Wars) 84 Donkey Kong (Donkey Kong) 80 Cookie Monster (Sesame Street) 78 Mr. Spock (Star Trek) 72 Thor (Marvel Comics) 71 Legolas (The Lord of the Rings) 57 Krusty the Clown (The Simpsons) 58 Will Turner (Pirates of the Caribbean) 58 Jack Bauer (24) 43 Jason Vorhees (Friday the 13th)
Damnation Pool: 114 Darth Vader (Star Wars) 86 Professor Oak (Pokemon) 83 Inspector Gadget (Inspector Gadget) 72 Shredder (TMNT) 70 Neo (Matrix) 69 Ezio Auditore da Firenze (Assassin's Creed II) 60 Wizardmon (Digimon) 60 Godzilla (Godzilla) 58 Mary Poppins (Mary Poppins) 43 Doctor Strange (Marvel Comics)
Biggest Surprises: Even if it is just because of his recent movie, I like seeing Thor beat Legolas. Approve of that result. Profeesor Oak continues to stomp as well.
Biggest Letdowns: Apparently Doctor Strange needs a movie too. Jack Bauer runs out of time. Wizardmon fights hard but comes up short. And, losing Legolas is always a bad letdown.

Long Island Pool: 63 Kirby (Kirby) 59 Scrooge McDuck (Disney) 59 Samus Aran (Metroid) 56 Jasmine (Aladdin) 49 Baloo (Jungle Book) 47 Eric Cartman (South Park) 46 Dr. Evil (Austin Powers) 43 Jiminy Cricket (Pinocchio) 41 Moe Sizlack (The Simpsons) 32 HHH (Pro Wrestling)
Jeffrey Pool: 64 Woody (Toy Story) 61 Blue/Gary (Pokemon) 60 Boba Fett (Star Wars) 59 Tom (Tom & Jerry) 52 J.D. Dorian (Scrubs) 48 Kermit the Frog (The Muppet Show) 47 Judge Claude Frollo (Hunchback of Notre Dame) 42 Ebenezer Scrooge (A Christmas Carol) 41 GIR (Invader Zim) 23 Desmond David Hume (Lost)
Biggest Surprises: Kirby is a powerhouse, confirmed. Baloo makes a narrow escape. Gary continues Pokemons strong showing in this contest.
Biggest Letdowns: Kermit couldnt quite make it. Its always sad to lose Frollo. Desmond got more +1 votes than anyone else ever, it was laughable. Biggest letdown is losing Cartman though. South Park is almost knocked from the tourney with that loss. The show has one last hope

Doberman Pool: 104 Gandalf (The Lord of the Rings) 84 The Terminator (The Terminator) 80 Elmer Fudd (Looney Tunes) 76 The Black Knight (Monty Python) 76 Aslan (The Lion, The Witch, and the Wardrobe) 68 Tyler Durden (Fight Club) 63 Ganondorf (Zelda) 63 Jack Skellington (Nightmare Before Christmas) 56 GOB Bluth II (Arrested Development) 45 Duke Nukem (Duke Nukem)
Samoyed Pool: 97 James Bond (James Bond) 90 Robin Hood (Mythology) 76 Edward Elric (Fullmetal Alchemist) 74 Alice (Alices Adventures in Wonderland) 73 Uncle Phil (Fresh Prince of Bel Air) 68 Azula (Avatar: The Last Airbender) 67 Carl Friedricksen (Up) 58 Shrek (Shrek) 57 Tony Montana (Scarface) 55 Arthur (Arthur (PBS Cartoon))
Biggest Surprises: I have to say, seeing both the Black Knight and Aslan doing this well is very impressive to me. Alice is doing better than expected too. Biggest surprise is Edward Elric though. What an amazing run.
Biggest Letdowns: Azula comes up short and becomes the first Avatar character to be eliminated. GOB Bluth leaves Michael to the rest of the contest. Jack Skellington cant get a big enough rally. Biggest letdown for me though was losing Tyler Durden.

I'm worried that the universe will soon need replacing. It's not holding a charge.
How can you possibly not put Ganon losing in the biggest let downs? I mean, I'm fine with him leaving this early, but I NEVER would have expected him to perform so horribly.

I crop Ganon, Link, Cloud, and Sephy together. They get too much love from the board as whole that leads to their anti votes in a smaller contest like this. I don't expect Cloud or Link to make the next round. Honestly, I'd probably put them in the surprise category if they did.
On a side note, the only video game characters I expect long runs from are Kirby, Miles, Phoenix, and Snake. Possibly one of the Mario bros.

Never knock on Death's door: ring the bell and run away! Death really hates that!
104 Gandalf (The Lord of the Rings) 84 The Terminator (The Terminator) 80 Elmer Fudd (Looney Tunes) 76 The Black Knight (Monty Python) 76 Aslan (The Lion, The Witch, and the Wardrobe) 68 Tyler Durden (Fight Club)
97 James Bond (James Bond) 90 Robin Hood (Mythology) 76 Edward Elric (Fullmetal Alchemist) 74 Alice (Alices Adventures in Wonderland) 73 Uncle Phil (Fresh Prince of Bel Air) 68 Azula (Avatar: The Last Airbender)
This is the first time I have ever agreed with the top 6 of a poll, and it happened twice. What a day.

All the proteins, vitamins, and carbs of your grandma's best turkey dinner, plus 15% alcohol. [Browncoat] ~Board 570901~ (Maniac64 at work)
Panite Pool: 120 Phillip J. Fry (Futurama) 117 Indiana Jones (Indiana Jones) 98 Jack Torrence (The Shining) 90 Carmen Sandiego (Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego?) 88 Belle (Beauty and the Beast) 87 The Grinch (How the Grinch Stole Christmas) 79 Pharaoh Yugi-oh (Yugi-oh) 78 Leon Kennedy (Resident Evil 2/4) 63 William 'Billy' Costigan (Departed) 60 Asuka Langely Soryu (Neon Genesis Evangelion)
Serendibite Pool: 121 Captain Jack Sparrow (Pirates of the Caribbean) 111 Andy Dufresne (Shawshank Redemption) 105 Captain Malcolm 'Mal' Reynolds (Firefly) 103 Albert Wesker (Resident Evil) 102 Mega Man (Mega Man) 78 Tommy Pickles (Rugrats) 76 Yogi Bear (Yogi Bear) 74 Porky Minch (Mother Series) 58 Hank Moody (Californication) 52 Tracy Jordan (30 Rock)
Biggest Surprises: The Serendibite Pool was made out of reach for the bottom five really early. It was clear who was favored from the very start. The Panite Pool however, was a blood clash between Carmen and Belle. They constantly switched back and forth the whole match for the fifth position, but the final vote of the match shot them both ahead of Grinch (who led the pool at one point) and to the next round. Biggest surprise, though it shouldnt be, is Mal Reynolds amazing run. Maybe even bigger is that points Fry racked up after most of Futurama performed dismally.
Biggest Letdowns: The Grinch slowly fell from the top of the leader board to out of the round. Pharaoh Yugi got a lot of low votes late too. I like 30 Rock but Tracy Jordan (the actor and the person in general) has never stood in a positive light for me. Still, its a letdown to see him flop like that.

Anything not worth doing is worth not doing well.
94 Miles 'Tails' Prower (Sonic the Hedgehog) 94 Fred Flintstone (The Flinstones)
91 Popeye (Thimble Theatre) 91 Big Boss (Metal Gear) 82 Austin Powers (Austin Powers) 77 Undertaker (Pro Wrestling)
Grand Canyon Pool: 132 Luigi (Super Mario Bros.) 126 Spiderman (Marvel Comics) 114 Roger Rabbit (Who Framed Roger Rabbit) 100 Farfetch'd (Pokemon) 99 The Rock (Pro Wrestling) 98 Oscar the Grouch (Sesame Street) 86 Pumba (The Lion King) 86 Scorpion (Mortal Kombat) 85 Maximus Meridius (Gladiator) 63 Dorothy Gale (The Wizard of Oz)
Biggest Surprises: Magneto drops the big ole 134 on everyone. Piccolo impresses all. And theres a first tiebreaker of the second round! How the heck is Farfetchd killin it?!? Good for him! Pokemon might be a serious threat to go far in this thing. Biggest surprise to me is Rock barely beating out Oscar. Whew, what a close one.
Biggest Letdowns: Losing Oscar sucked. Maximus caught up towards the end but fell short. And wtf Popeye is gone?!
Tiebreaker will be held tomorrow when the new round goes up!

Miles "Tails" Prower defeats Fred Flinstone by a score of 10-7 in the tiebreaker! Miles will move on while Fred packs his bags to move back to Bedrock.

Will have results/new round up a little late tom. I have to take the ASTB in the morning, then I'm goin to Whitewater for a bit. BUT, the next round and rounds after will have three pools instead of two. We're gonna get this contest moving a little more quickly!

Americans are benevolently ignorant about Canada, while Canadians are malevolently well informed about Americans.
Volcano Boarding Pool: 134 Merlin (Mythology) 121 The Brain (Pinky and the Brain) 120 Atticus Finch (To Kill a Mockingbird) 110 Charizard (Pokemon RBY) 104 Aerith Gainsborough (Final Fantasy VII) 89 The Iron Giant (The Iron Giant) 84 Norman Osborne (Marvel Comics) 84 The Bride (Kill Bill) 73 Barney Stinson (How I Met Your Mother) 70 Crash Bandicoot (Crash Bandicoot)
Train Surfing Pool: 115 Willy Wonka (Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory) 109 Wall-E (Wall-E) 102 Hermione Granger (Harry Potter) 97 The Dread Pirate Roberts Wesley (The Princess Bride) 97 Squall Leonhart (Final Fantasy VIII) 94 Ocelot (Metal Gear Solid) 91 Launchpad McQuack (Ducktales) 81 Frasier (Frasier) 80 Edward Scissorhands (Edward Scissorhands) 70 Commander Shepard (Mass Effect 2)
Biggest Surprises: Glad to see Atticus still doin well in the face of tougher competition. Squall barely squeezes by Ocelot on the whim of a last vote. Biggest surprise to me is Hermione. Shes a great wizard and all, but by this point shes kicking Harrys ass in support. Must be the Emma Watson factor.
Biggest Letdowns: Norman Osborne wasnt expected to make it past this round, but he put up a good enough fight for me. Hes come a long way from his early Green Goblin days. The Bride and Edward Scissorhands did worse than I thought they might. Biggest letdown is losing Barney Stinson though. Hands down.

Americans are benevolently ignorant about Canada, while Canadians are malevolently well informed about Americans.
Bungalow Pool: 79 Tidus (Final Fantasy X) 77 GLaDOS (Portal) 71 Hannibal Lecter (The Silence of the Lambs) 70 Scott Pilgrim (Scott Pilgrim vs the World) 67 Black Mage (8-bit Theatre) 66 Mickey Mouse (Disney) 65 HK-47 (Star Wars: KotOR) 63 Goku (Dragon Ball) 63 Dug (Up) 39 Speed Racer (Speed Racer)
Dogtrot Pool: 86 Captain Ahab (Moby Dick) 83 Winnie the Pooh (Winnie the Pooh) 82 Cheshire Cat (Alice in Wonderland) 81 Yoshi (Mario) 78 Hamlet (Hamlet) 76 Dr. Doom (Marvel Comics) 66 Michelangelo (TMNT) 59 Himura Kenshin (Rurouni Kenshin) 55 Bigwig (Watership Down) 49 Grumpy (Snow White and the Seven Dwarves)
Victorian Pool: 84 Donald Duck (Disney) 68 Garfield (Garfield and Friends) 68 Zaphod Beeblebrox (Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy) 65 Shaggy Rogers (Scooby-Doo Where Are You?) 62 Pinky (Pinky and the Brain) 61 Knuckles the Echidna (Sonic the Hedgehog) 52 Jay Gatsby (The Great Gatsby) 51 M. Bison (Street Fighter) 49 Jules Winnfield (Pulp Fiction) 44 Arthur Mitchell (Dexter)
Biggest Surprises: Whew. Black Mage holds on. Hamlet holds on. Ahab wins a pool. Tidus wins a pool. Garfield ties for second. Pinky holds on. Too many surprises to count.
Biggest Letdowns: Too many letdowns to count as well. The King of Disney falls. Goku, who had been doing so great get a blur of +1 votes. HK-47 falls. The first turtle is eliminated. The first Sonic character is eliminated. Bison gets trumped. Jules Winnfield is gone. I got to say, I do not approve of these results. Doom does not approve either.

To invent, you need a good imagination and a pile of junk.
Washington Pool: 105 Aragorn (The Lord of the Rings) 101 Dr. Robotnik (Sonic) 94 Vincent Valentine (Final Fantasy VII) 91 Dexter (Dexter's Lab) 85 Buzz Lightyear (Toy Story) 82 Emperor Palpatine (Star Wars) 72 Mugen (Samurai Shamploo) 67 Travis Touchdown (No More Heroes) 66 Articuno (Pokemon RBY) 62 Ace Ventura (Ace Ventura: Pet Detective)
Adams Pool: 114 Severus Snape (Harry Potter) 102 Iroh (Avatar: The Last Airbender) 95 Hobbes (Calvin & Hobbes) 87 Tony the Tiger (Frosted Flakes) 81 Zack Fair (Final Fantasy VII) 80 Rocko (Rocko's Modern Life) 75 Veronica Mars (Veronica Mars) 67 Princess Peach (Super Mario Bros.) 67 Manny Calavera (Grim Fandango) 57 Jay Pritchett (Modern Family)
Biggest Surprises: Vincent Valentine made a late charge and secured a position. Iroh demonstrates the power of Airbender in this competition. Buzz squeezes in on a last vote.
Biggest Letdowns: Mugen tried his hardest. Articuno becomes one of the few Pokemon not to advance. Travis gets all kinds of hate. Manny Calavera did so well last round and got wiped out this round (same goes for Veronica). Palpatine is the biggest letdown overall though.

80 Rocko (Rocko's Modern Life) 75 Veronica Mars (Veronica Mars)
I can understand Veronica Mars not making it (some people just don't like adorable blonds in crime dramas) but Rocko's Modern Life is one of the greatest cartoons ever.
Pools 20&21 Results: Safety Dance Pool: 102 Dr. Perry Cox (Scrubs) 90 Bilbo Baggins (The Hobbit) 86 Simba (Lion King) 84 Auron (Final Fantasy X) 79 Mike Wasowski (Monsters Inc.) 74 T-1000 (Terminator 2: Judgement Day) 73 EVE (Wall-E) 67 The Flash (DC Comics) 63 Uncle Ruckus (The Boondocks) 52 Alex Delarge (A Clockwork Orange)
Down Under Pool: 94 Charlie Brown (Peanuts) 90 George Castanza (Seinfeld) 88 Albus Dumbledore (Harry Potter) 81 Zuko (Avatar: The Last Airbender) 81 Ness (Mother Series) 76 Tommy Oliver (Power Rangers) 72 Alan (The Hangover) 68 Venom (Marvel Comics) 66 President Josiah 'Jed' Bartlet (West Wing) 54 King Leonidas (300)
Biggest Surprises: Bilbo of all hobbits is still garnering a lot of support. Auron holds steady to find Tidus in the next round. Zuko still shows how strong Airbender is, while Ness almost blows it to Tommy save two last votes.
Biggest Letdowns: T-1000 loses to Wasowski after a hard fought battle for 5th. One of them had to go. Uncle Ruckus gets a lot of support early and none late. I really didnt expect to lose EVE. Biggest letdown was Jed Bartlett. He should have at least been competitive based on last round.

Man, this always happens with these guys. Lucas was beating Cloud for first in a similar contest and then he lost a bunch of points near the end and got fifth.
--
Touch my heart. See how it beats in and out? Lucas! There's noooothing to worry about now.
Reading Rainbow Pool: 121 Scar (Lion King) 112 Luke Skywalker (Star Wars) 111 Daffy Duck (Looney Tunes) 106 Bart Simpson (The Simpsons) 104 Zapp Brannigan (Futurama) 87 Green Lantern (DC Comics) 85 McLovin' (Superbad) 74 Al Bundy (Married with Children) 74 Kratos (God of War) 61 Dumbo (Dumbo)
Mr. Rogers Pool: 127 Sherlock Holmes (Sherlock Holmes) 110 Bender (Futurama) 109 Hades (Hercules) 104 John McClane (Die Hard) 102 Iron Man (Marvel Comics) 84 Rapunzel (Tangled) 84 Arnold (Hey Arnold) 80 Locke Cole (Final Fantasy VI) 68 Sub-Zero (Mortal Kombat) 67 Ursula (Little Mermaid)
Biggest Surprises: In each pool, five characters did really good and five did very average. I dont know if there were any huge surprises. Bart, Zapp, and Bender all showed up to play in this round. John McClane got some support which was relieving for a 90s movie star. Sherlock Holmes bashed his competition.
Biggest Letdowns: Hate to lose Al Bundy this early. McLovin did better than expected but still couldnt rise above average. Locke Cole and Ursula surprised me with the amount of hate they got. Arnold gets his football head punted through the uprights. Rapunzel was the biggest letdown. She seemed to be a powerhouse last round and faded very quickly this round.
--
To invent, you need a good imagination and a pile of junk.
Tropical Punch Pool: 86 Homer Simpson (The Simpsons) 78 Goofy (Disney) 77 Beast (Beauty and the Beast) 71 Rocky Balboa (Rocky) 65 Rorschach (Watchmen) 62 Hercules (Mythology) 61 Tigger (Winnie the Pooh) 58 Kuzco (Emperor's New Groove) 54 Vivi Orunitia (Final Fantasy IX) 48 Big Bird (Sesame Street)
Berry Blast Pool: 92 King Arthur (Mythology) 81 Vegeta (Dragon Ball Z) 74 Eeyore (Winnie the Pooh) 74 Ellis "Red" Redding (Shawshank Redemptrion) 73 Carlton Banks (Fresh Prince of Bel-Air) 71 Harry Potter (Harry Potter Series) 67 Cloud Strife (Final Fantasy VII) 64 Toothless (How to Train Your Dragon) 64 Red Foreman (70s show) 55 Dr. Jekyll / Mr. Hyde (Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde)
Biggest Surprises: Beast came back from the graves, literally. He secured third place late. Eeyore did the same but in a less dramatic fashion. The Prince of Saiyans snapped through and earns the glory of being the only Saiyan left. Biggest overall surprise was Rorschach beating Tigger and Herc by a hair.
Biggest Letdowns: Cloud and Vivi become Final Fantasys latest casualties. Big Bird gets drowned in +3s and +4s. Hercules falls. Tigger barely misses to the cut. Biggest upset has to be losing Harry Potter. Fortunately for him though, his series is still well represented.

A girl phoned me the other day and said "Come on over, there's nobody home." I went over. Nobody was home.
