I know it. And for most of those "bad results," things started off so well in the first half of the vote!
With the win, Scyther maintains a two-game lead on Gengar, making him almost a lock for the #1 spot and essentially ending Charizard's hopes for such a position. Just 4 days remain.

Yep, you heard it here, folks. With a win over last-place Krookodile, Scyther notches its #1 spot, as it is currently 2 games ahead of Gengar and 2 1/2 ahead of Articuno. There's nothing to say Scyther wouldn't still win out even if it gives away the two-game lead, but then it all comes down to tiebreaker points.

Scyther is a great choice no doubt. I would have liked to have seen maybe another format to see exactly who from the Top Five or whatever is the best, since a lot of the top pokemon had great winning streaks, but then either tied or lost to the bottom pokemon, and that's a bit of an anomaly that could screw with placement.

Yeah, I know what you mean, but I really don't think we need to tack another round onto this contest. I figured that the Top 25 would already be enough of a tiebreaker, although I'll agree that this is probably not the most accurate Top 5. I think, however, that the voterbase is more to blame.
Meanwhile, Krookodile getting blessed by the "we don't want scyther as #1" sentiment

Wait, how is it possible for Articuno to pass Scyther? Scyther has a 2 1/2 lead over Articuno with 2 matches to go. So if Articuno wins out and Scyther loses out, Scyther will be 16-5 and Articuno will be 15-5-1. Not to mention Scyther beat Articuno.

In a day of several close matches decided by a one-point lead, only one abstained vote, and one complete blowout, there was more than one upset. Also I almost missed one vote because it was misspelled >_>. A Day of Ones all around!

For the purpose of determining computer rating, the program will sometimes put one Pokemon ahead of another if their records would be identical without ties. I know it would've still been a stretch, and unlikely given the way that Scyther performed, but it was still a possibility that Articuno could've gotten by on rating points, depending on how things shook out in the last two days.

But apparently my ill-advised statement at the beginning of the last topic did not skew things in Krookodile's favor, as it seems that it was all Scyther down the stretch. At this point, he has the number 1 spot locked up. Articuno has a pretty good shot at #2 now, with losses for Gengar and Charizard really hurting them.
I'd prefer to start the final topic of the round closer to prime time, but thanks for the early tally! I will most likely throw the current standings up sometime later today. It'll be interesting to see how things end up.

By my count, Krookodile was ahead by at least one point for a significant portion (about half) of the round, but yeah Scyther caught up in the end. Yay Scyther and Articuno!!

Prime-time sounds good, but I would definitely wait until after the final round is finished to post the standings, lest antivoting commence in full force.
Pokewars posted... So it was possible for Articuno to take 1st if I had "strategically" voted for Krookodile? Lol, but I wouldn't do that, 'cause Scyther is cool.
There was a slim chance, but I wouldn't have banked on it. Scyther has had such a strong performance and has such a high rating that I don't think Arti would've been able to overtake him anyway.
Just as Scyther is locked into first, Krookodile is also doomed to last. Which still makes him the 25th best Pokemon ever.

Ah yes, I do recall that happening a little while ago. I think it will be interesting indeed, in that this new list will look nothing like that one! Be it the more in-depth format, the voterbase, or the host, I think things took a turn for the worse this time around. But that remains to be seen!
Edit - Actually, outside of this round, the opinions really haven't been that bad in general. So we'll just have to see whether or not this list was an improvement upon the previous one. I've tried not even to look at the final list too much myself yet, as I want to be hit with the full list not too much before the rest of you are!

Well, Charizard looks to finish probably 5th in this contest, and Scyther and Arcanine have nearly swapped places. Not quite as many Eeveelutions to be seen, although Espeon did make it in this one.

I'm gonna let you guys know I can't tally right now. I'm in the middle of a movie I can't record. Unless everyone wants to wait another hour and a half, someone else might need to step in.
With the last vote, Genesis was able to give Umbreon the win, pull Sharpedo up into a tie, and bring Scyther within one. Otherwise, not an overly eventful final day of voting. Other than the overall winner going down for just the 4th time. Oh, and Krookodile picking up a solid 3rd win of the round, which proves inconsequential since he was sitting 2 games out of 24th.
I don't really hate Articuno. I just think it's severely overrated on b8. It's not bad at all, but I probably wouldn't even have it in my top 100 Pokemon.
