Zelda on the N64 is quite possibly the best any series has ever been on a single console. Add in one of the most beloved Mario games and what is easily the best non-internet multiplayer machine, and you have a winning console. IMO, it's better than the Wii, GameCube, and NES, anyway.

N64 vs. Wii Super Mario Galaxy 2 > Super Mario 64 Super Mario Galaxy > Majora's Mask Twilight Princess > Ocarina of Time Winner: Wii, easily
N64 vs. GameCube Resident Evil 4 > Super Mario 64 The Wind Waker > Majora's Mask Metroid Prime > Ocarina of Time Melee > Smash 64 Winner: GameCube cleansweeps this.
These are some of the most random, nonsensical comparisons I've seen.
Disagree. Wii

Sure, the N64 might be (read: is) lacking in a few areas, namely RPGs, but it is one of the best systems for local multiplayer and has some truly great games on it. The Wii isn't totally bad in my eyes (inb4 lol xfd your opinion is wrong xfd) but it has hardly any games that are worth the full price, especially compared to its competitors. You might (read: will) say that the N64 had bad third-party support, but frankly the Wii's isn't much better. At least Nintendo cared about their customers in the N64 era and would have gladly accepted any third-party support they could get (of course, they couldn't get much because most of the third parties were focusing on the PlayStation). Just look at the Xenoblade situation.
And I like Nintendo, too, or at least their games.

Super Mario Galaxy 2, Super Mario 64, and Resident Evil 4 are the best games on their respective systems. Perhaps you should be able to figure out the rest.
Or, in terms of the games, to provide some examples:
N64 vs. Wii Super Mario Galaxy 2 > Super Mario 64 Super Mario Galaxy > Majora's Mask Twilight Princess > Ocarina of Time Winner: Wii, easily
N64 vs. GameCube Resident Evil 4 > Super Mario 64 The Wind Waker > Majora's Mask Metroid Prime > Ocarina of Time Melee > Smash 64 Winner: GameCube cleansweeps this.
lmfao What the f*** is this nonsense post? None of this even makes any sense whatsoever. Wow.

I still have mine hooked up. Currently in the middle of a playthrough of Ogre Battle 64, easily the best game on the console and a top 20 game of all time I say.
Resident Evil 4 is more of a horror survival game than it is a third-person shooter. The StarCraft series did not deserve to get to the finals in G4's contest. The Metroid series is going to go dormant for a good while again.

MarvelousGerbil posted... TheCodeisBosco posted... People think the NES is the worst? Seriously? >_>
NES has the nostalgia/iconic factor going for it, but TBQH my first game system was a genesis and the only NES games that are legitimately fun by today's standards are SMB3 and I guess RCR.
I guess quite a few of my favorites would be considered retro curiosities to most - Clu Clu Land, Rad Racer, Ice Climber, etc. That having been said, though, I think there are a ton of NES games that not only compare to today's best in terms of entertainment, but are capable of outright surpassing them. SMB1, SMB2, Contra, Mega Man II, Punch-Out, Zelda 1... I think all those games have held up really well, and there's more where that came from!
My personal ranking: SNES > NES > Virtual Boy > Wii > N64 > GameCube. I've always loved the Virtual Boy, and I always will. >_>
