Length is the worst part about 3d Blast, IMO. I enjoy the game's first few zones but it definitely ends up being much longer than 2 hours unless you're being very methodical about exploring and finishing each act. Actually I'll be honest, I've never finished the game all at once, I've only played the second half of the game with codes. There are some really fun levels back there though...

Okay well since someone else said things...

Post I deleted said the exact opposite pretty much. (I guess I revealed as much on my list >_>)
The first 3 levels range from boring to horrible. Thats why it feels long at first but the later levels kick ass. Every level after that ranges from great to awesome imo. Also having to use codes 'lol'.

Just played S3&K again the past couple of nights and decided to call it quits during the last act of death egg. Was really fun! But... The super long acts in S&K can be extremely tiresome (sandopolis act 2, basically). Looking at it objectively, the fact that sandopolis 1 and 2 are so different should make the long acts okay...but it doesn't. Each act is still just too long to go without a break. Why does there have to be so many of the rising-sand sequences, and so many of the push-the-switch, then run sequences? There are some great level design tricks going on here, but I think Sonic 2 gets it better. Hill Top Zone, they just do a rising lava sequence once, and that's enough. More exciting and memorable that way anyway, and keeps the game speedy.

Hill Top zone also makes you do the See-saw thing like 10 times (and it was already done in Sonic 1) plus yeah it does rising crap twice and riding those platforms a ton of times. But the point is for Sandopolis its always a little different, and the level is always quite intense and exciting. Longer levels only make it worse if you don't like the design since its something you dont like for longer... Otherwise, longer levels are a ****ing blast... why put an early end to the fun, especially when its welcome isn't stayed out (and it never is).

Long levels suck in 2D. Same with the carnival night zones, act 2 takes forever. Same with marble garden...And what about people's favorite Sonic levels? Let's see, Emerald Hill, Chemical Plant, Ice Cap 2, Stardust Speedway, Star Light Zone, they're all shorter levels compared to the other levels in their games...even Sky Sanctuary probably benefits greatly from being a one-act zone.

See above~ long live long levels. Emerald Hill sucks. Chemical Plant Act 1 is very boring. Ice Cap 2 is definitely NOT short, especially if you like to explore, like me. Stardust Speedway is short because you go so damn fast through the level.

Man, I used to play this SEGA Sonic Arcade in the leisure mall when I was a kid.
Never made it through the first stage.
God, the rolling trackball control is not easy, making this game even more difficult.

I'm not a big fan of vocals in Sonic games either. City Escape is at least bearable though, compared to some of the other stuff out there.

Although I feel some of the enjoyment people claim to have for Sonic music is in the ironical sense.

I understood Hydrocity was a stand-in for all Sonic water zones... but why that level? Hydrocity and SCD's Tidal Tempest are the only water zones of the classic era I like! Must be the name which just screams "water" (though Aquatic Ruin would be a much better example...).

Vocal songs, well, I have Live and Learn and both versions of Sonic Boom in my MP3 player.(I find Escape from the City catchy, but that level brings so many bad memories - I'm stuck in Mission 4 since 2008! - that I can't bring myself into downloading it).
