i think there's chance for Orton to pull off No. 7. 30-31 years old with a year and a half on him and counting. can he be champ for 5 years if you assume he retires in 10-15 years from now? absolutely. that's the scary thing about Orton's future there.

I was re-watching Punk Contract Renegotiating thing and I can't help but feel like the whole Yankees thing killed the moment. Is the analogy correct? Absolutely. But there's two problems I had with it:

1. It felt cheap for Punk to go this route. They're in Boston, Cena is from Boston, comparing Cena to the Yankees felt cheap and unnecessary for a guy like Punk. Punk's goal is to hit the core issues of the WWE and Cena with his promos lately. For him to bring this up in that situation felt so damn cheap and really undermined what Punk is trying to get across.
2. I don't really feel like Cena "got it." When Punk goes on his rant about all the Boston teams, Cena is saying "Easy, bud." To me, that doesn't feel like Cena is getting nervous about the fact that Punk is "exposing" Cena's want to be an underdog but no longer being one. It felt more like "Easy, bud. Don't insult my hometown's teams." And then once Punk inevitably drops the Yankees comparison, it doesn't come off as "Hey, he's pointing out the fact that I'm not longer the underdog! Better hit him!" and more like "Hey, he compared me to the Yankees! No one compares someone from Boston to the Yankees! Better hit him!"

Honestly, if they hadn't used the Yankee comparison, I would have really liked it. I had no problem with the whole Boston part of it, because that could have really worked. Have Punk point out the fact that the Celtics have more titles than anyone in NBA history. Have him point out the fact that no other city has won more major sports championships in the past decade. Have him point out how delusional Boston is about their underdog status. Do anything you can to insult this, but leave the Yankees out of it. Because once you do, it loses meaning. It loses punch. It loses momentum. It just comes off as cheap.

I can understand why JaKyL and Wang interpreted it the way they did, but just watching the video I don't feel that way at all. I feel like Cena hit Punk because Punk insult Boston and compared them to New York, and really if Cena had hit Punk WITHOUT the mention of New York, I think I would believe that the WWE was trying to do what JaK and Wang have suggested, but this comparing Boston to New York thing just felt like Kurt Angle heat circa 2000.

It's amazing how WWE works. McIntyre was kicking all sorts of ass in the EC back in February. Now, he's lost to Chris Masters and Zack Ryder. After all that, he gets destroyed by Chocolate Train and gets ignored (when he took the hardest fall). No one's fallen that far since MVP. He never recovered.

IMO Sheamus should win MITB, give the briefcase to Drew to bring him back over to Smackdown, let him win the title for 10 minutes like Ziggler did so he would be safe. Sheamus and Mcintyre BFFs

He's fallen worse than MVP. He at least had a tag team and was a midcard threat at times. Drew is just near the bottom of a very stacked totem pole.

Having just watched the whole segment for the first time I disagree that it comes off as OMG YANKEES NO. The build up was steady and it did feel like Cena hit Punk for insinuating that he had become A Dynasty and he can be looked at like the Yankees of the WWE, and not so much a Hey Im a boston guy screw that.
