You say you don't want to be different or trendy, which essentially opposites. What this list is is trendy. Like another said, every college freshman has the same things. So you are interested in being trendy. What you're not interested in being is different, which begs the question why you would make this topic in the first place.

The only movie I'd really put around my top is Pulp Fiction. I like the other 4, but I can probably think of at least 100 movies I like more.

Also, why pick Casino over Goodfellas?

It's not perfect, but at least it's varied. I can see people saying it lacks more foreign/classic/independent films but that doesn't bother me much. The point is, it's a more varied list, even if a couple of the films are more mainstream/predictable.

reservoir dogs is an overrated piece of pop trash that gets worse with every repeated viewing.

I dig that top 5 quite a bit, Pulp Fiction and Big Lebowski are in my top 5, I love American Psycho and Res Dogs, though I just think Casino is okay and very much prefer Goodfellas.

For me I'd say

Nah, Reservoir Dogs is a great piece of work and brought something different to the table when it came out, however its in essence so similar to Pulp Fiction that there's literally no point in having the two of them in a top 5.
