voltch posted... Nah, Reservoir Dogs is a great piece of work and brought something different to the table when it came out, however its in essence so similar to Pulp Fiction that there's literally no point in having the two of them in a top 5.
yea, maybe when it came out, but we judge works of art based on things today, and as far as movies go, the lasting appeal of tarantino beyond Pulp Fiction and say maybe several of the movies he wrote but didn't direct, is beyond me.

Who says you're not perfect? Who says you're not worth it?
I wanted to show more variety in genre with my list than anything else. To get my tastes across more than anything else. If you look at BttF or Evil Dead they're at the top of their genres. BttF is, in my opinion, the perfect comedy. Yes, it's an entertaining film, it should be after all. The reason I list it is because I think everyone should have a comedy of some sort on a list like this. Andel actually got it right by having The Big Lebowski on his list. I'd say it's the only film that's "different" from the others on his list so to speak. And even then, it's still a bit similar in tone to the others.
As for Evil Dead I enjoy horror films. As such, I think this should be represented on my list. It's a great, entertaining horror film. Plus, there's something to be admired about the story behind the film. Filmed on a shoestring budget by a group of friends in a cabin in the woods and yet it looks fantastic and really displays a high pedigree of ingenuous film making. I think it's somewhat of an inspirational film in this regard. So yes, it's entertaining but it also has more emotional resonance with me.
1. Taken 2. Fight Club 3. The Lion King 4. Shawshank Redemption 5. It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World

So you shouldn't have 2 movies you really enjoyed in your top 5 because they're similar? Really?
