1. In this contest, you only vote for a game if you’ve played both games in its’ match. Both games. This is important. 2. You have to have played them yourself, physically. Reading a Let’s Play is not playing. Watching your friend or youtube is not playing. Disliking a genre is not playing. Playing the prequel/sequel is not playing. The first match really messed with my expectation. SK3 fans aren't super dedicated? SMG2 barely has a higher playrate than it? The tiebreaker rule came into effect? Nintendo wins a match? Weird.

Earthbound is a great, fun, comical and somewhat deep RPG with tons of character and content. The music and art style are very memorable and I've played it at least three or four times. It's a wonderful game.
Mass Effect 2 I just finished up a month ago with maybe two or three weeks of playtime. It hasn't sunk in yet. It definitely has its charms, but I tried to do too much too slow to absorb what quirks and cool things it does have. It's definitely got some great characters, a lot of fun worlds to explore, the story works nicely, excellent music and graphics. I don't just mean resolution. Yes, while aliens are humanoid figured as they're always apt to be, there's a lot of great creative races in there. Curiosity: but does favor towards Mordin Solus, Tali'Zorah nar Rayya, Garrus Vakarian, and Joker beat out Ness, Paula, Jeff, and Poo? It's definitely shinier. The physics engine is a lot of fun, too.
But it doesn't shine everywhere. Half the guys I pick up I just don't even care about, most of the missions are forgettable, and the final stages of the game, while awesome, do not compare at all to Earthbound's even if "Suicide Mission" is an amazing song. Onett, Twoson, Threed, Fourside... it's got plenty of different and unique and fun hub worlds too. There's just so much memorable about the game from enemies to NPCs to lines of dialogue. It can get slow in parts (a lot after Summers), but it doesn't compare to mining out planets... which is mostly a side quest.
I'll have to get back to this one. Both very good games with very different strengths.
I have bought Mass Effect 1 and 2, but haven't started either yet. Ghost Trick is pretty good from what I've played so far, but RD is probably my favorite FE.
