so my store manager, a regular manager, and I were working today
some kids, 13ish years old, showed up and wanted to trade in some games, so I helped them out
I already forget what he brought in, but it was worth like, 6 bucks
anyways, they looked around in the store and they ultimately couldn't find anything they wanted
so I brought up reserves, they can at least make sure they have a game they wanted when it comes out
they got pretty interested, and both managers came from left field to back me up
then My store manager recalled if you put a reservation on a select game using store credit, you get an extra percentage boost
at this point, one of the younger boys was trying to get the attention of the regular manager cause he wanted to ask him about a game he saw on the TV
but yea, he was just blocking him out all douchey
so I walked over to him, leaving my register, to ask him what was up, he wanted to know more about Deus Ex Revolution
so Yea, I spent a minute explaining what was up with that game, and I told him to ask ME if he had anymore questions
as I was walking back, the regular manager leaned over to my register, suspended the transaction, and brought it up on HIS register
apparently he convinced the kid to reserve Gears of War cause it'll boost his store credit up and he wanted the number for himself
I didn't know this at the time, I found out later, but yea, hes pretty b**** made for doing that
and guys, some of you will remember I've had trouble with a manager being a dick. This "regular manager" is that same guy
so yea, I nudged to my store manager and pointed at him and laughed. The store manager couldn't believe he just did that
the phone rang at that moment and my store manager took it
at the time, I thought it was funny how he just took my transaction from me. whatever. I had 11 reservations at the time. missing one won't hurt
I jokingly said "Man, sir, thats pretty messed up! taking my transaction from me like that!"
he stopped, said "Fine you take it" and stormed off
literally walked away right then and there, to the back
I was puzzled, but whatever, the customers need help, damn. I was just playing around dude.
and yea, the customers told me they wanted the reservation. "Ohhhhhhhhh thats why he did it"
finished the transaction, got the number, put the extra store credit they earned on a card, done deal
now
the store manager had to leave at this time for a lunch break, right after he hung up the phone, so he left, said bye to me, and 5 minutes later, the other manager came in.
I was helping other customers, but I noticed after he came in, the dick manager came out from the back, and started talking to my other manager
after I finished with a mini-rush, the dick manager called me to the back
I said "Oh boy" out loud, and the other manager said "dude, don't take anything he says seriously" so whatever the dick manager told him, the other manager didn't believe
okay, so he says "I don't give a flying F*** about reservations, but you calling out "Hey, don't take my number" was highly inappropriate"
I stopped him right there and told him that I didn't say number, and I had no idea one was involved, I just jokingly called him out and I said transaction
he just said "Tomato Tomahto"
then he went on and rambled how I was unprofessional, I embarrassed the company that way etc etc whatever I wasn't paying attention
then he said again "All because of some number"
AGAIN I stopped him and that as far as I was concerned, this had nothing to do with numbers,
despite not giving a "Flying F***" about numbers, he sure brings it up alot
and so yea, he was *****ing then he said I could clock out
we both left the back, and he started talking to some customers
as I was clocking out, the other manager said
"He fed me some bull**** about you, don't listen to him, if this turns to anything, I'll be your character witness, I know you didn't pull the stuff he said"
I was in a hurry to leave, so I didn't find out what he said about me, I just left
couple of hours later, I realized I forgot a poster I was gonna take, the Sonic Generations poster, so I went back
the dick manager already left
and it was just the store manager and the other manager
so yea, we talked about it right there
The dick manager never told the store manager about it
he only told the other manager
now what he told him was that I threw a tantrum infront of the entire store and he said I stormed off from the register. lol wut
and he was b****ing about how I was a baby and whatever
and so I explained my side of the story to them, and they both believed me
the store manager saw it happen and the other manager said that the dick manager has actually pulled the same move to HIM before.
the store manager said that the dick manager didn't inform him of this because....he was right there. and the store manager said that yea, what he did was messed up and knew that the **** he said wasn't true
the other manager was pretty upset because the dick manager used profanity to me.
so yea, the dick manager always fancies himself as "Not caring about numbers" and ****
but yea, he ALWAYS checks after every transaction to see his number to sale percentage.
he ALWAYS lies to the customer that they can cancel their own reservation
and he ALWAYS passes off cancels to other coworkers if possible
he ALWAYS goes and hides in the back so his percentages drop
and like I said, despite not giving a **** about numbers, he kept bringing it up
TL;DR VERSION
A MANAGER TRIED STEALING A RESERVATION ON ME
I BASICALLY CALLED HIM OUT ON IT
HE GOT BUTT HURT AND STARTED MAKING UP STORIES ABOUT ME
From: MarvelousGerbil | #010 I think at most businesses 3-5. Depends on the hours, and I wouldn't know about Gamestop since I've never been there before 3PM.
I never knew that. Never thought a GS could be big enough to have so many managers o_o
That's what you call a dick manager? You should have seen what I had to deal with at Arby's, I had a manager try to get me fired by stealing from my till and then pressuring my boss to reprimand me for it.

Also, I'm so glad to have a job where I'm not responsible for every shortage on a till
At Arbys, I was held accountable for the till, and there was a really small margin of error allowed. When it was just me on the till, I had the best record in the store, but I had to allow managers to take and cash out orders on my till frequently :(

Really? Just out of curiosity what was the margin of error? At McDonald's we were allowed to be over or under by $3.00 before anyone even cared at all. And I mean, unless you're just terrible at making change or something it's pretty hard to even be off by that much >__>

Margin of error was some small percent, I think somewhere around 3% or some low amount, like $5.00
And it was mostly easy to keep it free
But when you had to fight to keep people off it, only to be told I could not forbid my general and assistant manager to use it(and have it turn out my AS was stealing from it) there's not much you can do.

From: MarvelousGerbil | #040 I like it better than THE GREAT WALL OF TEXT, which is originally intended to keep the potential to give a damn out of a topic.
this loser has always had his way for so long that he gets completely butt hurt and whiny when he gets called out on it. Even if what hes doing is completely wrong
but since his actions are so petty and dumb, nobody has bothered saying or doing anything about it to let him know to stop doing his bull ****
