won't happen. It'll definitely be for a Nintendo console since they have a deal with Square-Enix. Question is just is it still Wii or moved to 3DS or Wii U

If you recall, Dragon Quest 9 debuted as an Action RPG and the japanese screamed bloody murder and they changed it back to turn based.

I have a sneaking suspicion that they haven't shown us this game for 3 years because if the rumors are true and it really is a xenoblade-type game, it'll be too late to change anything if the japanese freak out again.

DQ changes at the same pace that Pokemon does. one day they'll get there.

but yeah I think DQ is in for a big change. it's pretty much the only series left with standard turn based battles.

There's nothing wrong with standard turnbased battles done right. I thought DQ8 was a fantastic game. It kind of dragged on story-wise, but everything else was fine. Well, maybe a more balanced skill-set which made every class worth using would have been better.

This might be blasphemous sounding, but I wasn't actually planning on buying the anniversary collection since I already own DQ1-3 for SFC ( I own the FC versions as well)
