Recap, and it's a big one:

Greg, Paul and Warren: After briefly fooling around with Paul's room, Greg finally decided to prototype his newly remade pre-punched card. When he inserted the resultant carved dowel into his alchemiter slot, a swarm of beetles attacked! The three boys fought valiantly, but Greg was caught, and seemingly devoured by the beetles. While Paul and Warren absorbed the shock of their friend's demise, Paul casually glanced through a window and noticed that the meteors had disappeared...along with the trailer park. In their stead was a vibrant grassland with clear blue skies. As he took in the scenery change, Greg appeared from thin air in front of him, having succesfully entered his world, the Land of Speed and Skies. After some brief moments of revelry, the team split up: while Paul fiddled with Greg's computer, enticed by the prospect of being his own server, Greg set out to find his grandma, who had mysteriously vanished. Meanwhile, back on Earth, Warren accidentally spoiled a cake his Big Sis had baked him by running into it face-first.

Jon and Zach: After playing a melody that mysteriously raised a set of steps to the top of the flag pole that crowned the platform in the middle of the sky, Jon began to experiment with the net it bore in place of a flag. Using the net as a vantage point, he spotted a set of vials, hidden behind one of the lights that lit up the stage, and retrieved it, sprinkling the net with one of the vials. As he stepped in, he discovered that the now metallized net repelled all objects that approached it, including players. Rescued by his Frat Bro, Jon used the net's repelling field to send a golden orb flying at him, which transported the academy he inhabited to a massive broken down space station, the Land of Stars and Secrets. While his Frat Bro left to find if anyone else had come along for the ride, Jon decided to find his sprite, Morgansprite, who was waiting for him next to a large, partially frozen door leading to the rest of the station.

ZENO, Aaron and Harriett: After being chased out of Weird Uncle Sef's tower by his eldritch yarnbeasts, Harriett enlisted Sharkman's help for an assault on his tower. The fight was evenly matched, until Harriett saw that her bedcouch had been damaged and her anger and irritation spiked to previously unseen levels, allowing her to enter Concordanger Mode. Its awesome powers easily pacified the yarnbeasts and sealed the eldritch portal through which they had been pouring into Earth. Victorious, Harriett retrieved her swag and even poached a few items from Uncle Sef, particularly a game of Jenga she used to upgrade her Jenga modus, making it easier but also more annoying to use. Tired after all her hard work, she went to sleep, dreaming of the black planet again, and once again dying gruesomely, this time to a vague monster with white eyes she had seen once before already. Emerging from her slumber, she was too distraught to sleep again, and went out for a walk, at which point she noticed she was being pestered on Pesterchum.

ZENO was the one who had been pestering Harriett, thanks to the actions of her RepliCPU (which had held two conversations with him before). While he talked to Repli!Harriett, he constructed some solid ground for Aaron to stand on. Briefly distracted by the construction of a model evaluating the safety of several infrastructural pieces, ZENO found that his client player had vanished mysteriously. Deciding to find another way to spend his time, he set out to retrieve the toolset necessary to create lesser robots from the Laboratory's Annex, discovering that the corridor that lead to it had been blocked by debris.

Still the Recap:

While ZENO was distracted by the RepliCPU, Aaron explored the strange properties of the newly generated antigravity field, which seemed to have had some sort of temporal effect on his Clockwork Ballbot, causing it to collapse and reform itself constantly.

Unable to obtain the tools needed to analyze the field's properties, he sent the ballbot to retrieve a backup set from the Quiln House's lab. The ballbot soon returned, bringing not the tools but an important message from Aaron's older cousin, Doctor Quiln: He had finished constructing a new prototype invention, the Teleportapad, and wished to make Aaron into the first teletransported human in history. Eager to perform some Great Science, Aaron stepped through the teleportapad...and into the darklit planet Harriett had dreamed of.

(I highly recommend reading the following sequence of events as they transpired in real time within this log: http://freetexthost.com/ih0dijgdrs

Below continues the recap.)

Aaron's thirst for knowledge had dire consequences. Caught by surprise by murderous being, he was defenseless against its vicious might.

He died.

Death was not the end for him, however. The two embodied game mechanics, the Meta-Metagame Abstraction and Meta-Metagame Entity retrieved his body, and animated it with a semblance of life and Aaron's spirit, transforming him into a revenant. Their reasons for doing so are still unknown.

Kyle Schwartz: While Zach Waller was hard at work providing Jon Castille with information on the structure of his Land, he was contacted by another holder of a Sburb beta key, ruggedHibernator. Said beta key holder's name was Kyle, a scatterbrained but clever text adventure buff. As he engaged in several conversations with Zach, Kyle struggled to obtain his Sburb disks from his guardian, HHamster the superpowered hamster. After some clever bargaining, he finally acquired them. Soon after, he attempted to contact the famous hunter Bear Grylls, and mysteriously received his authentic knife, which bore a cryptic message.

Jeeze, that took a while to write. Kekhet's stuff will go up tomorrow, because right now I'm too busy going F5F5F5F5F5F5F5F5F5F5F5F5F5F5 over the EoA5A2 flash and it's hard to summarize while low on sleep. If I missed anything huge, lemme know!

Last part of the recap:

Kekhet: While looking for something to do, Kekhet was contacted by the CO, who made her an offer that promised to alleviate her boredom: a chance to play a game of high stakes. Though cryptic, the CO hinted that the mammals she had been studying would be involved in it and sent her a file, which she decided to put aside for a moment to make sure that her hive was ready for liftoff, which would occur in a few hours. She found that the metal bars that stabilized the hive-slash-spaceship bore repeating patterns of circular rust, but couldn't find the cause for them and dismissed it as being unimportance. Returning to her room, she dedicated herself to learning more about the two mysterious letters she had received and their authors. To that end she enlisted the help of Queril Orioni, AKA unrelentingExaminer, the rustblood detective with the gift of psychometry. Using her talents (and scanned pictures of the items), Queril discovered some disturbing information: while she was unable to trace the identity of the mysterious 'LD', she learned that the syringe of gray liquid he had sent Kekhet had been used as a murder weapon before to kill a troll with almost exactly the same blood color as the sarcastic blueblood's. She had better luck with R. Akunda's letter, uncovering her trolltag, rebornInheritor, as well as warning Kekhet that sensed an air of deceit about the letter. Pleased with the news, Kekhet sought out RI and engaged in a conversation with her. Apparently, RI wished to commission a speech from her. After some bartering, she agreed to trade a set of imperial treasures for it. The speech was, oddly enough, directed at an audience of older trolls, and dealt with subjects such as the mobilization of the Alternian populace. Feeling uneasy about it (and not being particularly interested in honoring her side of the bargain in any case), she decided to instead put it on the backburner and turned her attention to the program she had been sent by the CO, MEBYPASS.EXE. Upon activating it, it spawned a dozen mirrorlike sheets of opaque glass on the walls of her room. After some consideration, Kekhet decided to leave them behind and headed for her hive's Synesthation, where she enjoyed a brief multi-sensory experience...and triggered the controls that activated the hive's launch, as the Synesthation's machinery had been repurposed.

Made a couple major changes to the rules since I posted the link above, for those who missed the chat. Basically math showed that HP was out of whack with other stats because it scaled crazily fast, since you ended with a beef gate for 10 BP as opposed to how a max-scaling character needed 19 BP for example. So, the HP gain got nerfed to 3 points per BP, but the cap was increased so that a pure-HP character is more viable.

I'll try and get a plan for how the NCA will work and send it to you tonight for review (likely with some more questions as well).

And if you want to/have time to do an initial build for me, that would be great! I can always modify it from there. You pretty much know everything I have in mind right now (except that I plan on having healing as a signature move, being raised taking care of animals has its advantages). Otherwise I will keep working on it when I have time.

Recap of today's minisession:

Last we had left Kekhet, her hive was soaring up through the stratosphere. With some skillful maneuvering, she managed to stabilize it, and contacted Finark Rombus, AKA squareCommander for help. After warning Kekhet to take cover, SC used the orbital defenses of an abandoned military outpost from the days when Alternia was a contested spot in the civil wars and sent a massive harpoon at her hive. The harpoon enabled the hive's descent, but also critically injured Kekhet's lusus. As the hive was pulled down to earth, one of SC's sensors freaked out with strange readings. Surprised by the anomalous results of the scans, SC asked Kekhet to head for her hive's roof, where she saw the Darklit Planet, encroaching closer and closer to Alternia. Kekhet's recounting of the planet's sudden apparition seemed to upset Finark, who had heard a third troll describe a world much like the one approaching the troll spawning grounds the day before. The conversation between the two trolls was abruptly cut off as the hive was deposited on the ground again and Kekhet rushed to her lusus' side. To save its life, she was forced to perform surgery with materials scavenged from the hive's wreckage. After stabilizing her lusus, she returned to her room, which had not been damaged by the harpoon, and noticed that the many blue mirrors seemed to have been unaffected by the hive's demolition.

Pesterlog of the conversation: http://freetexthost.com/x6b2r4iyf5

Summary of the situation: Meteors? Forget meteors, there's a planet full of magical yarnbeasts the size of a city and killing monsters of absolute vagueness headed for Alternia. Oh, and Kekhet's hive has been nearly destroyed and her Lusus is hanging on by a thread.

...Yeah, not exactly the happiest situation to be in.

Quickie build before I go to bed since I was asked for one:

HP: 50/50 MP: 40/40
STR: 6 MAG: 25
DEF: 6 RES: 15
LUK: 6 AGI: 18
SP: 0/0
Style: Gutsy/Mystical

Build Explanation: Really basic castery setup: lots of MP, good MAG so you can Absorb and only have a single turn of downtime once in a while, nice dodgehax, and good spell resistance. Squishy though, so you'll have to play safe and use those Contexts to avoid eating heavy damage. If you want a less squishy setup, reduce AGI and up HP to 74 and DEF to 10. Hybridization provides a bonus when attacking Dersites and tech users.

Huh, that second suggestion is pretty close to what I have. Agility is much higher and Def, HP are lower (plus I had Magic at 23) but yeah otherwise that is it. I was originally going to go less dodgey and squishy, but now that I think about it dodging probably makes more sense for Warren considering his normal battle strategy...

I might drop AGI a little though, maybe go AGI: 16, DEF: 8. Or do you think that all Agility is better?

Thanks again for all the help.

There is a Rogue description, maybe you read that one.

no, it isn't the rogue description i'm (mis)remembering.

maybe i just think i read it because some of the other write-ups refer to it.

...Well **** me sideways, I forgot to do the Thief. Let's rectify that.

The Thief:

There is a prize waiting to be claimed, and the Thief will be the one to claim it. Occasionally nasty, sometimes duplicitous, and always mischievous, the Thief receives a signature boon from his Element that will serve him well: in a tough situation, he can steal his element from his foes, weakening them while growing stronger at the same time. From the rather obvious Steal Life to the strange Steal Void and Steal Space, there is nothing the Thief can't take. However, such petty thefts scarcely hold a decent Thief's attention. Behind purple walls, under rivers of magma, and between pockets of broken spacetime lies hidden his great reward, and the Thief will stop at nothing - nothing - to claim it.

Class Bonus:

Steal Element ability unlocked.

Elements 14, 15, & 16: The Elemental Suite

Breath. Blaze. Tide. Glebe. The four elements are a key feature of Sburb's mythology, and even when matched against the more esoteric and strange elements, such as Void or Mind, they can hold their own. Granting their Heroes command over the primal forces of nature, they deserve a very, very healthy amount of respect. Few things are more terrifying than purifying wildfire consuming a planet's surface, or a temperature drop so drastic even molecules cease moving, or the sudden formation of a massive mountain chain, after all.

Element Bonus:

Blaze: Lesser Blazebendings and Lesser Flarefaculties become available. In some cases, Greater Blazebendings and Greater Flarefaculties may become available.

Tide: Lesser Aquabilities and Lesser Streamskills become available. In some cases, Greater Blazebendings and Greater Flarefaculties may become available.

Glebe: Lesser Metalmandalas and Lesser Seismelodies become available. In some cases, Greater Metalmandalas and Greater Seismelodies may become available.

Agility is nice early because it protects you from the pretty stupid Underlings, who aren't exactly master tacticians and rely on basic abilities often. Some defense will serve you well though, so it's pretty much preference.
