Tierkreis was too much of a departure for me. It would have been fine if it didn't bear the Suikoden name. It wasn't even really part of the series.

Anyway, Suikoden VI would be very welcome, but it sounds like this might be something else, or at least just not called VI.

I'm trying to find out what "tsumugareshi" means, but it sounds like it's just a name they made up. The rest of it translates to "Century of Time".

Hero VI has the Time rune and has to travel through time to make sure the events of 1-3+5 happen as they did in-game.

I'm still trying to figure out what the "Tsumugareshi" part of the subtitle means.

If you break it down, it could be Tsumu Gare Shi, which appears to mean something like "To be fine Scree city". Whatever that means, I'm not sure. Maybe it's the name of a magnificent city built on a cliffside.

This is me pretended to know how to make sense of online translators. I'm probably very wrong.

I think 2>5>3>1>4 is pretty much the universal ranking for the series. 5 would be the best if not for the load times and being the easiest game in the series by several thousand miles and if it had a better strategist then Miss Cleo who knows the entire script of the game before it even happens.

I'll probably end up playing this. The only other Suikoden I've played is Tierkreis, simply because I only have a DS and PSP at the moment. And despite Tierkreis being incredibly easy, I still thought it was a pretty fun game.

With Tierkreis between 2 and 1 IMO. Great series though, with generally outstanding writing; probably the most consistent and best overall in the genre.

Really psyched about the new game! Glad that it's on a system I own to boot. Hoping it comes out here, but I do think it will.

Suikoden games have such engaging stories and I really hate how often this is partially wasted by the silent main that Japan loves so much. So this is a pretty big point in 3's favour to me.

Really surprised you've seen more people who like 5 best than like 3 best; that's just... not my experience at all. 3 is the favourite game in the series in the circles I mainly move (I know it's 2 in most Suikoden communities, though) whereas 5 seems to eternally be the game that everyone likes, but nobody absolutely loves (its flaws are a bit too obvious, I guess).

Yep. I'm excited for it though. In the same way I'm excited for the new Smash Bros. I know it's gonna be a let down, but I can't help it - it's Suikoden.

Still no official word on the whole million worlds thing yet? I'm inclined to believe it, though I don't want to. The video shows some guy using what looks more like a Mark of the Stars than a rune. I'd like to be cautiously optimistic, but that doesn't bode well.

Man, 4 > Tierkreis? 4 > any Suikoden? Crazy opinions are crazy.

I'm excited about the game regardless. I no longer really expect them to advance the "main" series plot (they haven't done that since freakin' 2002) but S5 and STier both had great stories anyway so I'm excited for this game however they do or don't choose to connect it to the rest. Aside from 4 the series has really never let me down and I'll spot it at least one more stinker before I expect it to.
