Mt. Ordeal has been pretty bad so far though admittedly I only got 2 maps unlocked (I'm not even done with the story so I can't beat map 2), I assume it's map 3? It's always map 3.
Just to make sure so I get it open asap and start training seriously.
Ah also, is Flonne DLC? I'm at the Final Chapter and she just appears so I assume she'll be playable someday but she could totally be DLC too.

Oh and game is pretty awesome so far, but like usual the main story is too easy if you just power level one character. My Fuka One Shot pretty much everything.

To beat Ordeals 3: Have Valvatorez be at least around 200, equipped Absorption evility, a good bow, and have his last skill be decently upgraded. I beat it at that level, but I almost got one-shotted a few times, so eh >_> also you need a good healer or two, but their level doesn't matter too terribly much as long as they can heal decently. 1) You're gonna try to one hit kill all the slimes at the beginning with aforementioned skill; use four or five guys to throw them all in range of the base panel and have Val own them from there. If some still live, use everyone else as meatshields and let Val get as many last hits as possible. 2) Once the slimes are gone, equip the bow and start sniping the ghouls. You can at least take out one, but after that, you're gonna need someone to chuck you over to them. Attack from maximum range; like half of them won't even move, and you should be building up some decent defense by now. 3) After they're dead as well, chuck over your healers. Advance through the Ally Move Damage zone slowly, healing everything (no silence on this grid!), and start baiting the Mothmen and stripper demons one by one. Mothmen can put you to sleep but that's not really much of a problem since you can Espoir with healers, but the stripper demons can do some serious damage if they get off the silence grid; I got the closest to dying here. Move one square at a time and you should only get one at a time, though, and rememeber; if you're on the ally move damage grid, you can Tyrant them for a usual one hit kill. Heal and buff in between monsters. 4) After they're all dead, move up slowly until you're just out of range of the dragon. Use your healer to pick up Val, chuck him as far as you can, and Val should be able to one shot the dragon easily by now with all his absorbed stats. If not, use the healer(s) as bait or something for a turn or two.
It takes a while, but it's mostly safe!
With Giant Magichange, I was getting four monsters up from 1 to like 300 in one fight, so it's definitely worth it imo.
Oh yeah, if you haven't yet, reincarnate one of your generics into a bouncer and try to unlock the 4th tier bouncer. They learn Big Bang, which hits exactly every single enemy on Ordeals 4. You can train with Desco too, but she can't hit two of the enemies on turn one.

Axes have f***ing evil single-target damage very early on, imo. Don't really like them now either though.
What I did was powerlevel Giant Desco and let a human character take out the last two guys. Giant Yog Sothoth, then next turn magichange with the human + Martial Transformer usually let a human get at least one kill. Which is huge when the enemy's level 400+ and on a double experience grid.
Oh, and if your Desco can't one shot them, GET MOAR BEASTMASTERS. It's like +50% attack for every one standing by her or something crazy like that, thanks to her and beastmasters evilities.

Oh snap, son. Seems like you never learned about Giant Desco spammage. She's the easiest character to powerlevel with pre-O4.
Level her up to where she gets Yog Sothoth -> fuse any monster into her -> murder 9-4 with her 3x5 AoE until it doesn't give decent experience anymore. Then spam some beastmasters and you should easily be able to take out O4 with her, even if she's way underlevelled.
She's the reason I had a Prinny God before even getting O4. <_<
(also random fact: level 99 enemies give as much experience as about level 380 enemies do to the f***ed up way the experience curve is, so yeah)

Make sure the space around them is completely free. They take up five squares, like in a cross formation, and if any of the squares aren't empty (disregarding the monster you're fusion-ing into the main monster obv), it won't give you the option.
Which means a lot of cramped maps you can't even use Fusion, argh.

Well, it kinda makes sense that if you're gonna want huge power and gigantic attack ranges, you've gotta use up another two to four monsters!
Besides, the experience isn't split between fusion and magichanged monsters, everyone gets the base amount. So it's like levelling a bunch of characters at once!

They're a million times better in this game. Seriously, I never touched a single monster in 1 or 2, but now almost my entire team is made up of them. Even if you enjoy using humans, there's really no downside to magichanging, usually.

It's not. Grinding is centered around using both humans and monsters, and iirc, there are more monster classes than human classes so it's definitely not focusing on a certain character.
The past games focused almost completely on humans. This game's giving monsters an almost equally important role while still letting you decide if you want to focus on humans or monsters. Like humans more? Magichange for stat boots and a few extra moves. Like monsters more? Fusion for better attacks.

Almost typed it before but it didn't send ;_; argh college internet
But really, just grind enough to where you can beat O4 then pull out all the stops (buffs, craploads of beastmasters, etc) to beat O4 one. After that, you'll gain a few hundred levels and it'll be cake. I was training off rank 20 (about level 2000 enemies) within two hours, I think.

Well, to compensate, fight as strong enemies as you can to maximize experience, because iirc there's no way to delevel a skill >_> just keep levelling Desco and that amount of SP won't be too bad in the long run.
And I almost immediately started using Bouncers with Big Bang when I got O4, it's a little faster that way. I was beating 2000~ enemies at around level... 1100 I think? That was with dual giant magichange though, so it was actually 5 level 1100s.
Btw, dunno if you already knew, but you can disable all animations. Makes a map take like 25 seconds!
Beastmaster needs level 15 warrior and valkyrie to unlock, btw. Should be really easy postgame if you stick someone in the training symbol. It's really worth it if you're powerlevelling Desco because they have a skill that increases mana and exp gains by +50% that they get immediately.

It's possible to max out all your aptitudes at 300% for all characters, you just have to do a looooot of chara world. I think Androids kick ass in some other way but take a lot more effort.

Alright, I'll get one because they look awesome.
Also is it's possible to totally gimp a character? I know you can gimp equipment but I hope you can't screw up with characters.

Well stat gains are randomized (if it's the same as Disgaea 1 and 2), and base stats gain some random bonus when a character is created/reincarnated, which also determines stat gains. Not really that important though, and way too much of a hassle to keep track.
