I don't even mind it at all just taking the match into account - it's just that after Squaresoft > Nintendo, FFVI > SMG2, and FFVI having a five-vote lead at one point, the final result feels completely wrong.

Am I finally starting to feel some disdain for B8's "incessant" Mario love? I mean, after Super Metroid's losses to MK64 and Paper Mario and this...

It's not a strange result. Galaxy 1 > Galaxy 2, as some of us have been insisting the whole season.

Edit: That was meant to sound more like a subtle jab than a definitive opinion, but it didn't come out the right way.

Some last words from me on the result I "whined" about:

Congratulations, FFVI. Never thought I could ever feel even the slightest bit upset at seeing Super Metroid and Mario Galaxy WINNING matches, but...oh dear.

Like I said before, I did not mind the result at all, I regard both FFVI and SMG to be godly, yadda yadda yadda. In fact, SMG is what got me into "hardcore" gaming anyway. The result just felt so hypocritical, but that's it. Well, I'm also getting sick and tired of seeing Mario games pulling off these comebacks out of nowhere - MK64 and Paper Mario did the same to Super Metroid so bah.

I will only act as "anti-Mario" as I want out of actual preference though, and that's it. Heck had I voted for FFVI against SMB3, FFVI would have literally forced overtime (but I actually like SMB3 more).

I am sorry for my whining about certain results. Well, at least Civ4 was able to get a big win for itself this week I guess!

Fortunately it doesn't look like next week will have a match that I can whine about.

Eh, people are more inclined for characters they actually think will be strong for the NRT rather than who they like. Not to say people don't vote for favorites, but it's not strictly a popularity contest.

Besides, they may have bought the game for Link, but it doesn't mean they can't like other characters in the game, too.

Seeing FFT ahead of Super Metroid is kinda eerie considering that that was the last opponent Super Metroid actually beat before its 5 losses in a row. But nice to see both of them back in the top 35.
