snake isn't really expected to dominate...though he'll def. still be top.
it's basically a big fight for first between diddy, snake, marth, and falco now.

the thing about the old tier list is, it's almost literally just a ranking of each chars matchup vs. Meta knight lol. so with meta knight gone, the tier list will change up completely. you cant just remove mk and go down and expect it to be the same, cuz it's gonna change a lot.

The tier list won't change much at all, except D3 jumping a bit in placement and usage. This whole thing is so dumb and I've been screaming at people online for the past hour. As if people didn't laugh at our community already, now we just look super-scrubby and dumb, and I guarantee this actually drops tournament attendance after 3 months. No one ever says "I'm not going to the tournament today, I don't want to play against MK". They show up, lose to him, hate it, b**** about it, but show up anyway. MK players and people who think it's completely asinine to ban him will stop going to events run by The Empire (Unity rules) and no new players will come in. It's the dumbest thing they could of done, and sure enough, Chancellor Zealot did it.

Some people will quit over it.
Brawl is long past the point in its life when it was particularly relevant (I'm pretty sure it's no longer being played at MLG these days, and people who were sick of metaknight stopped playing so long ago that they're completely out of practice now) so it's not likely to attract new players with this change.

Losing players + not gaining any players = smaller community.

Yeah, I was a bit confused after reading your previous post, but that makes sense.

Although I don't think people will quit because they can't pick Meta Knight. If anything they'll quit because of the principle of the thing.

Firstly because it's done by a group that is more or less holding the community hostage by enforcing their rules, and if you don't use their ruleset your tournament cannot be featured on any of the major brawl sites.

For the actual ban itself, a lot of players will get turned off by a decision to ban a character that they don't think deserves to be banned and furthers the perception that our community is stupid/scrubby as compared to any other competitive fighter. It won't attract any new players, and will only alienate those who oppose the ban, and they'll stop attending tournaments that use this ruleset (which is a lot considering that again, they have a lot of the community by the short-ones by not featuring tournaments which is scary for smaller tournaments because they don't want to be ignored) so overall attendance will drop in the future.

Outside of Super-Turbo Akuma, I can't think of a banned fighting character, and we're going to be the laughing stock of the fighting community even more because of it. And since Brawl is towards the end of its life, a lot of players also think that this radical change is just too late and if you were going to do something it should have been done a lot sooner when it may have actually had an impact on the community in a good way, instead of the crappy ways I mentioned before.

The international Brawl scenes are also laughing at this decision, and when you look stupid to the majority of the Brawl community, you know it's bad. Someone in the thread said "You know s***'s real when Mexico is laughing at us." That right there is truefax.

So in the end we're somehow going to look even worse than before, and end up losing attendance, just so bad players can think they have a better chance of winning even though they don't, and then they'll realize it and this whole thing will finally look like what it is: the dumbest move in the history of competitive gaming.

Which begs the question, what the hell are you supposed to do if you hit 50 because you're legitimately getting knocked off the stage? Are you not allowed to save your life?

You will never be knocked off the stage in a match 50 times that require you to grab the ledge or even where it's a good option to do so.

Generally when you get near about 30 grabs, some small form of stalling or quick ledge regrabbing occurred at some time.

System Specific characters are banned for obvious reasons.

Boss characters usually are as well unless theyre specifically balanced for the game. HDR AKUBA is the only one that was balanced for the game and was still banned because Air Fireballs are just a broken option in SF2.
