We didn't have any Dark Souls general yet and there seem to be many b8ers playing it, thought it was a good idea to make one !

So where's everybody at?

I'm still getting my ass kicked in Undead Burg so I'm gonna stay there for a while, I won't leave until I manage to kill the dude in Golden Armor, and the dude with the Giant Mace.

It might take a while but I'll kill the bastards !

Once you get the Dragon Sword, the Dark Knights are cake.

The Club Knight is still absurd.

The Gargoyles are making me hate life.

They are like the Man Eaters, except twice as hard.

I'm a Thief, I started with Master Key and the Witch's Ring. I still don't know if I'll go pure melee or use magic as well. As of yet I haven't found any magician items (though I did find a Talisman of God, I think I have to form a Covenant with the priest to get Miracles). Still in Undead Burg, although I did try exploring some other areas but it was completely impossible. Ruins? NOPE. Catacombs? NOPE. Drake's Gorge? NOPE NOPE NOPE. Got some cool loot that I can't actually use, though, like the ZWEIHANDER. It took me a while to figure out how to get past the drake on the bridge but I did it and now I feel dumb. I'm at the Parish now. So I finally know what the hell to do.

Has anyone tried the online much? I noticed that you can't heal yourself when you are a summoned Phantom, it sucks. Unless there are other/better healing items than the flasks. I haven't been invaded at all, either. Maybe it's just that no one has the game yet!

Last thing I did was kill the boar. I feel sooooooo weak.

The boar died after I tricked him into running into the fire.

He died AFTER he killed me.

He disappeared and I did not get his souls ;_;

Oh also, I'm at 2 humanity atm.. I have no idea how I got that humanity at all.

Haven't killed a single boss, haven't used the consumable humanity I got..

Wondering if I should Kinda the bonfire in Undead Burg, before the narrow bridge with firebombers.

yes he is. I'm just not even bothering with him now, it's not like he's blocking anything important.

I just beat the Gargoyles.: 2-hand slashed the first one with the Drake sword aggressively until it died, barely had any health left as the second one showed up, dodged and drank, then slowly fought it with my fire-resistant shield. It was intense.

protip: get on the tower where there was one of those black nights and shoot the big scary dragon from there. it will glitch itself to death and you'll get 10k souls.

Now I'm trying to kill this damn goat demon. And I accidentally found a huge hydra. And a zombie dragon. Everything is terrifying.

I ditched the dagger a while ago for a shortsword since I was doing more damage with that. I pretty much only picked Thief for the Master Key, although it's done more harm than good what with unlocking the Drake area and the room with that damn club knight.

Maybe I will just go Str/Dex. I did find a guy selling magic in the ruins underneath the hub area, but it was 2000/4000 souls for his basic spells, and he's waaaaay back from where I am now.

Plus magic for the main game in Demon's Souls was kind of overpowered!

Haha I found the zombie dragon too.

I didn't even realize it was alive at first, I just picked up some loot and went "OH ****" as it came to life and mauled me.

And the only thing I managed to pick up was a sword with 80 magic damage!...that requires 14 Faith to use. Pah.

I ended up getting all the loot around that dragon. There's some other equipment that I already forgot about and a valuable soul. He's a lot easier to not get killed by when he's already awake.

Daggers are awesome if you backstab everything ! Think they're the best weapons for this.

I'm not sure. The confirmation dialog was different then when I talked to the Priest. The Priest straight-up mentioned joining a Covenant, and then mentioned that I would be repealing my old Covenant (which I didn't have). It wasn't the same message for the Sunbro guy.

Yes, yes, and when it comes to gaming, yeah, sometimes.

I like playing hard games and challenging myself. And from everything I've seen Dark Souls seems to have this vibe that I dig.

I'll have to pick it up sometime during the holiday gaming rush. Gotta get Arkham City, AC: Revelations, and SR: The Third first, though.

Too many games coming out.

I'm at some forest of death place. Running around, all of a sudden these ice creatures attack me, then comes this huge ass attack from outta nowhere in the backround, I have like 10 HP left, so I decided to run away.

Found some sleek armor though.

I'm on top of the Dark Knights old tower but I cannot see the dragon...

I had that problem a few times, and I'm not sure exactly what determines if you can see the dragon or not. I guess uh... check back if you're in the neighborhood again ;>_>

Finally killed the Club Knight ! I used like 50 firebombs to bring the bastard down.

Drops a nice ring though, +22 or so Equipement level.

I ended up using the Black Knight Sword I found off the first black knight I found, right before the Taurus Demon. It's pretty absurdly powerful, and led to me going into places I'm not even sure if I'm supposed to be in now.

I kinda wish I could stay human more to have the fun of being invaded, but given I'm exploring places way out of my reach and being killed all the time, it never lasts.

Humanity needs buffed, a LOT. Unless that stat boost is huge or something, it doesn't really make up for being invaded. Plus everyone is running around in Undead form so there aren't many people who can summon!

And yeah, I can't seem to stay alive enough as a Human/rack up enough Humanity to keep coming back.

Just one. I dislike that they made it into an item, though. That's one less item slot to use. <_<

And you get humanity from using those items and also gradually for each enemy you kill. I'm not sure how you can tell; I think the number lights up as you get close to getting a full humanity point? Dunno. I also don't know if/how it scales. I used to get a point on a run through the bonfire in Undead Burg -> up to where the Taurus Beast was but then it stopped happening.

I've made two characters so far, a Hunter and a Sorceror. Mostly just goofing off at the moment, getting reaccustomed to combat controls. The Tutorial area is WAY easier than the Demon's Souls Tutorial was.

Stopped playing the Hunter when I got to the Landing between the Top and Bottom Bells.

Sorc I played a bit more, and took it to the top section where I killed the Black Knight and got a Titanite Chunk (think that was what it was called), and a Ring that increases Defense with lower hp.


I've only gotten about 2 hours worth of total play time in so far.

Is there a Stockpile Thomas-esque character? I didn't notice any item burden stat, only equip burden. Which I mean, it's nice that I can carry as much random crap as I like, but this is like in Pokemon Diamond/Pearl when they gave you infinite bag space and no place to store useless junk. It's going to take forever to sift through all this once I get more stuff. <_<

Went to fight the gargoyles... dodged the first attack, hit him once, then he chain hit me to death. I think it's time for a break.

Its nice you have infinite item space though

always was annoying when you had to drop some cool **** in demons souls.

I'd say just drop your equipment you have copies of or aren't going to use. There's a neat system for it:

They'll probably disappear over time, and when they do, they'll drift into other people's games. But when they get there, they become Vagrants, which are powerful npc black phantoms. Better the equipment you dropped, stronger the vagrant will be, and the higher chance that the vagrant will drop equipment rarer than what it spawned from.
