Oh yeah, a question. I heard some snoring while wandering around Firelink. What's up with that? It went on for awhile but I couldn't find anyone out of the ordinary.
Way of the White guy left, too. Now all those fatty messages are just a sad reminder of my departed friend.
Your amount played and your level don't really need to correlate. Some people die more often and can't regain their souls that they lost, because they die again. Some like to spend it on items, upgrade stuff, or solely put to their levels or a the mix of everything.
Plus your overall level doesn't really matter much, it depends on what attributes you are leveling up.
Man, I must be in topsy turvey world. I kept hearing everyone comparing the Gargoyles to the Maneaters, but I aced them on my first try, hardly took any damage. And yet I'm on my 5th Capra demon attempt, who everyone seems to think is easy. >_>
Make that 6 attempts, his dogs always land one hit on me while I'm trying to position myself to kill them, then I get locked into a combo between him and the dogs that kills me. >_>
Just lost all the souls I got from Capra demon, "yay". Also lol, SHINE's done all this crazy stuff and yet I'm still technically farther along than him.
Yeah I'm not human terribly often. >_> On a related note, I just got cursed AND insantly killed via petrification. You'd think one of those would be sufficient!
You can get close, run for the armor near the water (the spot of light) and get closer, once you're very close it'll stop spewing water and will use crappy head smashes that you can easily block without taking damage.

Where's New Londo at? I don't have any purging stones and I doubt I'll be able to do too much with health like this. Alternatively, maybe I can treat this thing like The Brand and use it to complete my Guts character. >_>
So I'm on my second day of playing now, and this game is the ****. Playing a sword-wielding Sorceress and loving every second of it. I never played Demon's Souls, but I got the hang of this game fairly quickly. I think I had the most trouble simply figuring out how to equip the shield.
So I've killed the second boss now and rung what I assume is the first bell. But I have a question... Where is the dude you buy sorceries from? I swear I talked to him when I was first starting out and I saw an upgrade for my soul missile thing for like 4000 souls.. But I haven't been able to find him since.
Yesss, taking my Zweihander and plowing through these petrification lizard things. I'd be blasting Forces right now if it wouldn't clash so horribly with the game, I'm totally repping Guts here.
Co-Op is indeed awesome, though because of it I stopped leveling altogether since I don't know if there,s a level difference limit for summons like in Demon Souls and if I want to help people to kill the gargoyles I need to stay low.

Seriously? I've done all of Undead Burg and Parish and I haven't seen a single NPC selling spells.. maybe I didn't look well enough.

Blargh, lost all my souls again. This curse is pretty inconveniant, especially with a slow weapon like mine. Haven't leveled up in forever due to losing all my stuff so often. >_>
How does that even happen.. but then I'm not any better, I once died just out of the room with the bonfire in Undead Burg, like with the firebombed bridge, I left and instantly fell off the ledge.
At least the bloodstain was close.

I could be mistaken, I mean it was in my first couple hours of play that I remembered seeing this... but I'm almost positive I remember seeing a couple offensive spells that were way out of my budget at the time.... Hmm. I did find the guy selling all the Cleric spells though. Bought "Heal" before figuring out that those run on Faith rather than Intelligence... and now I have a ways to level up before I can actually use it. Kind of fun going through a game knowing absolutely nothing and not being able to correct my mistakes. I feel like the second character I make will be infinitely stronger than my first.
And I don't know if it's just my general cockiness, but I think I'm really good at this game or something. I killed the first two bosses on the first try and was less than 1 hit away from finishing the gargoyles on the first try.. I ran out of flasks on him and then got burnt =/
I also love the fact that you can play in any style you want. I'm refusing to wear anything but Robes with a sword and shield, so I'm just running around in my starting gear and I don't feel gimped. It's so damn awesome.
From: Peace___Frog | #291 really tired, but I want to catch up with the rest of you guys >_>
Don't have to worry about me! Between being cursed and trying to get used to using a weapon this slow, I probably won't be getting anywhere tonight. >_>
Catching up with me isn't hard at all, I'm literally doing nothing but kill gargoyles over and over again cause I'm too much of a ***** to risk losing my humanity.
I did the Stray Demon just because I knew getting back my bloodstain would be easy in case I died, at least I only died twice.

Shake, you're already further than me. It says I've played for nearly 5 hours, so that's not very long, but I've beaten the first real boss and zero dark knights. I'm happy with my equipment and my stats aren't too shabby (SL18, maybe?), but I just haven't been able to play for more than a little bit at a time.
I think that's it for the night, maybe one more attempt. Those torch zombies insta-kill me with half of their moves with this curse, super annoying to pay that kind of price for a minor slip up. X_X Still zero souls to my name for the last couple hours.
Of course, I ace everything when I use the Drake Sword. So much for weening myself. Zweihanders are just so slow, but I won't give up. I'll become Guts by the end of this playthrough.
I just lost 41k souls in Blighttown. My curiosity got the best of me. I should have just gathered up the 9k more souls I needed to absolve my sins so I could finally learn some sorcery, but I needed to see what Blighttown was all about and I wound up falling off some ledge because of a suddenly bad camera angle. Bleh... I didn't get too far into Blighttown (I was closing in on that weird looking gigantic creature hanging on the wall), but it's not as bad as people have been making it sound yet.
