This calls for a Darth Vader NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!

Watch as some anti-Apple people will then come to this topic to call for an Obi-Wan Blu-Ray Kray Dragon Call.

Is this the biggest death (in the US, anyway) since Michael Jackson's?

in US maybe, but in Canada I'd say Layton's is bigger

definitely a bigger shock, too

Am I crazy to call this the most shocking death (in the US, anyway) since Michael Jackson? Even if he was terribly sick and on borrowed time, this is still a huge story.

It's not really all that shocking since he's been sick for so long. Didn't expect it to happen so quickly after he stepped down though.

It's amazing that he lived so long with pancreatic cancer though. Even with all that money, it's still pretty much a death sentence.

No. he was noticably sick. I believe he had cancer or something.

I don't think I've ever owned an Apple gadget, but it's had one hell of an impact on technology in general this past decade. Also, whether you liked the guy or not (I honestly don't know much about him), watching his physical deterioration over the years was pretty awful. I wouldn't wish **** like that on my worst enemy.

Osama bin Laden? Unless you mean death of an American citizen, in which case I'd probably say Betty Ford. Maybe even Amy Winehouse, Liz Taylor, Patrick Swayze, or Walter Cronkite.

EDIT: Well actually I guess Amy Winehouse and Liz Taylor weren't American but still.

Most deaths get a "Well that kinds of sucks" reaction out of me, but this time I can honestly say that I feel the world just got a little bit darker. By no means am I an Apple fanboy (only Apple gadgets I've ever used was my dads old Apple II and my 4th gen iPod), but the man was brilliant. Whenever Apple holds a press conference, while I know I probably won't buy their new product, I always pay attention because it'll probably be something interesting. I just hope his successors can hold up his legacy.

And also I'm at a loss for words over Margie Phelps tweets. If there is a god I somehow have a feeling he would be embarrassed by her.

Not even close. The guy owns several slave shops in China, willingly and warrantlessly puts tracking devices in all the products, calls the middle class a bunch of "useless eaters" and was one of the biggest scumbags on the planet. He deserves about as much sympathy as Saddham Hussein or any other evil dictator, but people choose not to see him that way because they enjoy buying his Chinese slave goods -- from factories where nets are put down to prevent people from killing themselves, where people barely make a dollar an hour, where terrible working conditions and work-related illness are still very prevalent.

People like to pretend the term "slavery" no longer applies to our modern planet (mainly because Americans think slavery ended after the Civil War due to their obscene lack of knowledge), but we have more slaves worldwide now than in any point in human history and Apple was at the forefront for how to use the model. Build a factory in a country America doesn't like, put out a few sympathy pieces where you "catch yourself in the act and vow to clean things up", never actually do anything and continue selling as if nothing ever happened.

So yes, RIP Steve Jobs. Enjoy Hell.

It's true. Only I could have three people want to f***, not tell me and then get mad at me for not getting a hint.

If you think I have fun with people online, you should see me in real life. It's unreal how mad people get. I have a 200 pound anime girl who wants to fight me, apparently because she learned karate and honed it from her cartoons. I swear we have someone on B8 like this too, though obviously they're not important enough for me to remember.

You cannot make this s*** up, my god.
