so yea, as it turns out, my mom isn't gonna get social security for my dad dyin
shes not only too young to qualify, but she can only make 15,000 a year and yea, she makes more than that
we all have our own bills, but now we have to pay the taxes and bills on my dad's house, and the couple thousand bucks we owe for the cremation service
we all pitched into for the cremation service and yea, we're all pretty tapped out because of it. I never quite fully recovered from helping out my mom last year. my bro and sis threw in what they could. the military screwed my lil bro out of his pay apparently, he couldn't even pitch in to begin with, let alone now. and yea, that wasn't even close to it being enough
so obviously we were really relying on the SS service to pull through, now we're al pretty screwed
I'm gonna have to sell all my video games and s*** now. and my TV
and probably my lil computer, I bet I could get 100 bucks for it.
Yeah, property taxes and HOA dues can be killers (assuming the house is part of an HOA). I'm assuming you've already given consideration to selling/renting out the house?

I have NO idea what we're gonna do NEXT month
my mom was considering getting another job but shes ****ing 55. She doesn't need to be doin that ****
god dammit why won't this end
Pun, I know exactly what you are going through. I can't say that "it'll get better" or "just hang in there" so I'll just offer that I can help in any way possible. Just let me know if you need something.

if selling all your stuff is only going to be only a temporary solution, I don't see that as a valid option. I also don't understand how the military can screw someone out of their pay. they don't seem like an organization that does that.
so who occupies your dad's house now? I assume you all pay rent wherever you live? could you all move into that house and transfer your rent money into what you have to pay here until the financial situation is better?
also don't sell your computer IMO. they lose value fast and the value it has to you will vastly outstrip whatever small amount of money you could sell it for.
My IM to ya the other day stands dude. Like the others said, I don't think selling your computer would be a good option. The small amount of money you would make off it doesn't really compare to the resource it could be for your family in the times to come. There's nowhere better to research what kind of options your family has, regarding everything.
no one occupies the house but its currently a pigsty
theres trash every where, its dusty as ****, and theres books everywhere
my dad was apparently a hoarder
we've been cleaning it for the past week. My mom is gonna move in. Its currently under me, my lil bro's, my mom and my dad's name, they planned on giving it half and half to me and my bro but he passed before we could do that. Thats an entirely different issue altogether cause we have no idea where he put the documents
so yea, mom was gonna move in so she didn't waste money renting a house anymore

masterplum posted... From: SmartMuffin | #024 Would you be willing to accept small amounts of charity? This actually isn't a poor idea at all, I wonder if we could get a b8 collection drive going.
And how old are you? are you in college? do you have a job?
no this isn't a good idea
yall already helped me out last year with my mom's surgery, you guys helped close the gap, but that was a couple of hundred bucks
even if I was willing to accept charity from yall, I need like 5,000 or so bucks for everything.
so I appreciate the thought but I just can't let it happen since it won't even make a dent.
I hope you manage a way to get through this. Best of luck in all of your future endeavors, and I hope you will get to a place where we can see more of you in the future.
