They look nothing alike and it just doesn't make sense to me. I never even knew they were related till I was looking at a Pokedex today.

Are there any other evolutions that make no sense like this?

Magikarp makes sense to an extent. At least they are both still fish-like. Though I guess Gyarados is more of a dragon than a fish. I dunno I think it just bugs me because I thought that Remeraid and Octillary were in no way related.

Remoraid evolving into Octillery is seriously weird, yeah! Samurott is pretty odd as well - his design is great, but it isn't at all congruent with the rest of the line.

I think the weirdest thing I've seen in Pokemon, though, is Garbodor's speed stat. He has a base speed of 75, which means that he can outspeed a decent number of Pokemon, including Luxray. Let me reiterate: in Pokemon, a bag of trash is faster than a lion!

Okay that makes a little more sense. Still kinda bugs me.

Also Sammurot kinda bugs me as well since he goes from 2 legs to 4 legs, almost like he de-evolves.
