The Rules:

-Matches will last exactly 24 hours. Votes after that much time has elapsed will not be counted, even if a new topic hasn't gone up yet.
-This is a contest to determine which character is the most *powerful*. Vote only for the character you think would win in a fight, not the one who's funnier, cooler, or sexier. If you don't do that I can't count your vote.
-BOLD YOUR VOTE. Unbolded votes will NOT be counted.
-Rallying is allowed. Alts are not.
-Fights will take place in a neutral terrain. This does not necessarily mean a *featureless* terrain: assume that both characters will have a chance to use all of their skills to the fullest here, barring setting-specific abilities and anything that requires the presence of multiple enemies (but see below).
-Characters start the fight alone. They don't bring allies with them, like Kerrigan and the Zerg Swarm for instance. Summons are allowed though, provided they're brought once combat has started.
-Fighters retain their usual personalities. They won't fight to kill unless that's their MO, and won't spam their best attacks to win unless, again, that's how they act in their original media.
-Similarly, fighters are unaware of their opponents capabilities at the start of the fight unless their powers facilitate them information (like knowing all there is to know in the universe - this would include who the opponent is and what he can do, as well as weaknesses)
-You don't have to justify your vote, but it helps. If you feel like you can add something to the debate, go right ahead!
-Seriously, BOLD THE VOTE. So important it bears repeating.
-Bracket Link, for viewing past results and future matches:

Past Results:
Surprisingly, Sarda failed to Mercy Kizaru. He still won comfortably, of course, but failing to achieve the requisite number of votas for a total stomp was surprising. Votals: 13-2

(8) Seiya
external image
From Saint Seiya, Pegasus Seiya is one of the Saints of the Zodiac, who wears the Bronze Armor of Pegasus, and later on, his own God Cloth. This powerful protective armor is an illusion, a physical representation of his Cosmos, his ability to harness the energy of the Big Bang through his own body. While donning his God Cloth, Seiya's Cosmos is infinite, allowing him full access to that energy. He is capable of moving at speeds well in excess that of light, dishing out blows so powerful that they can damage incorporeal entities, and no attack he can survive will work on him twice. Perhaps Seiya's most defining feature is his grit: he is able to endure incredibly powerful assaults and resurrect himself through sheer force of will. Combined with his aforementioned ability to become immune to an attack after having witnessed it, defeating him requires the use of overwhelming force or a very large arsenal of attacks.

(2) Urza
external image
Urza, from Magic: the Gathering, is a Planeswalker, an extraordinarily powerful immortal being granted near-godly powers by the ignition of a spark within his soul. Urza is four thousand years old, and tremendously cunning and powerful. He is a master artificer, capable of creating the Titans, colossal battlemechs capable of decimating hundreds of enemies with a single wave of their hands and equipped with a spectacular array of missiles and weapons. He also once devised a bomb capable of reducing a plane to nothingness. He has shown the ability to regenerate from lethal attacks, though sufficient force may be enough to incapacitate him, or destroy him if his supply of magic is completely drained. Additionally, Urza is a nearly unequalled sorcerer, with powerful spells and artifacts at his command, as well as a skilled warrior for his age. He has a strange weakness, however: should the stones in his eyes, the Mightstone and the Weakstone (used to empower or weaken artifacts), ever become damaged, the resultant energy discharge will be powerful enough to kill him outright.

Host's Note: No using cards to powerscale Urza or infer his abilities. Work off of his novels or refrain from pitching in. Anyone caught trying to argue MtG cards in Urza's favor will be permanently banned from MPFC2k11.

Same. Seiya can probably hurt Urza, but the Planeswalker has the necessary number of attacks to smoke or incapacitate Seiya and more, and he's a *ruthless* fighter.

Seiya. I'm not really convinced of Urza's durability, given how he was beheaded by Gerrard. Granted, it didn't technically *kill* him, and there was other plot stuff going on, but he was still essentially done for after that. This fight would probably end up smashing everything in the surrounding zipcodes, but Seiya seems tougher

He was reality warped by Yawgmoth into being a normal man before that. Twice, in fact, since he was too smart and strong for Gerrard to beat the first time Yawgmoth knocked him down because Gerrard is an idiot.

If Seiya is planeswalked into another universe, can he return?

Because that's really the deciding factor here. Seiya's probably strong enough to kill Urza outright with a magical attack (intense magical stress being one of the few things that can put down a planeswalker for good) and tanky enough to survive most of what Urza can throw at him (though his each-attack-only-works-once trick is useless, Urza's got enough spells that it doesn't matter).

http://outskirtsbattledome.wikispaces.com/Character+Profile+-+Pegasus+Seiya

Powers and Abilities: Skilled warrior (can adapt to techniques seen or suffered once through observing the components of the attack), through Cosmo beyond the 7th sense has super strength, super speed, enhanced durability, telepathy, telekinesis, energy blasts, forcefields, levitation/flight, dimensional travel and higher senses to compensate the loss of physical ones. Through the 8th sense has total control of his soul and body in the realm of death allowing him to resurrect

I've only read and seen bits are parts of Saint Seiya, but doing some research, it seems he could potentially return.

Unless someone else could expand upon this, to why or why he wouldn't be able to return.

Welp.

Seiya

Battle happens two ways:

1. Seiya blitzes Urza. Urza cannot react to lightspeed attacks, so he eats whatever Seiya throws at him. Magical attack probably kills him outright, intense magical stress being responsible for a huge number of planeswalker deaths in the MTG storyline. Physical attack... probably kills him outright too, because it will apparently be strong enough to affect the "real" Urza, i.e. his immaterial consciousness. Direct attacks on the soul/consciousness being the other major cause of planeswalker deaths in the MTG storyline. In fact, the latter might be a better idea, because what counts as "intense magical stress" is really inconsistent even within MTG.

2. Urza goes first, and his first action is to warp Seiya away so he doesn't have to deal with him. Seiya returns, at which point the above happens.

...I guess if Seiya was a complete idiot or something, Urza could win, but it's looking very, very unlikely.

Seiya. can just plain tank better, leagues faster, and doesn't even need to tank after the first pop. though really i'd never trust obd writeups on anything for hype as it always OVERHYPES damn near everyone by a lot. seiya doesn't do everything listed there, however other characters who've unlocked the 7th sense have.

...still, the main Gemini had two main attacks: another dimension (which warped you through other dimensions continuously) and a galaxy-busting attack. both of which Seiya got put through in the first place. not sure if that's before or after he could don the gold cloths, but it doesn't really matter as by the time he hits god cloths gemini was kinda a joke.

Every single time I read "FTL" I think it means "For the lose" like it usually does. So it's like "for the lose speed"..like, going so fast the other person has no chance.

I mean I KNOW it means Faster Than Light, I just...double-take every time >_>

Anyway, Seiya. Not sure it's a squash match or anything but I'm comfortable with that vote.

Near God vs... Saint of the Zodiac... so another near God pretty much...

I doubt any of Urza's attacks can one-shot... thus anything hitting Seiya will have no effect the second time and Seiya can pretty much destroy Urza once he's started to attack... at the looks of arguments so far...

Uh, Urza has a giant mecha. You can see a pic of it here:

http://gatherer.wizards.com/Handlers/Image.ashx?multiverseid=23087&type=card

Actually, the main purpose of the mech in general is just to boost all of Urza's parameters. I really doubt it makes a difference here though, especially because Urza would presumably have to waste time summoning it in. (He does have it for most of a book, so it's not really a temporary power-up, but historically it's never been argued as part of his default gear for these matches.)

It's not anything remotely animeish if that's what you're thinking. It's like a cross between clockpunk and magitech.

The stated purpose of it was infiltrating Phyrexia, which is basically... like an evil machine dimension, where Yawgmoth, the main villain of MTG, lives. The mechs were supposed to help Urza and the other planeswalkers he recruited survive Phyrexia's various hazards.

The actual purpose of the mechs was that all of them (except Urza's, presumably) contained a mechanism called the Kill Rubrick, which Urza could activate at any time to instantly kill the planeswalker within. At which point Urza would turn their soul into a bomb and use the bombs to destroy Phyrexia.

In fairness(?), Urza wasn't planning on betraying the entire group, he was going to let an evil planeswalker that he recruited do most of it, then Kill Rubrick him, and then Kill Rubrick anyone who tried to stop this plan. Which is... better? I guess? Still somewhere south of neutral, though, I think.

No cool phrases that I can remember. <_<

Probably closer to real, but with planeswalkers, who knows. I think they were psychically controlled though, and the whole "this mech somehow makes your magical powers even stronger!" aspect points towards super.
