Big time nay. If I'm pausing the game there's likely a reason, and there's a good chance that I need the TV quite for said reason.

I also heavily dislike quiet rooms, which is why I have things like a fan and dehumidifier on at all times.

And of course, if you don't like the music on the pause menu, there does exist a mute button.

So my answer is I don't care.

No preference really, but I have no problem with pause-music (Zoo Keeper had a simple, yet contagious little beat to its pause screen)

Sometimes when I'm pausing, it's because I need to react to someone nearby and I need the quiet. I certainly don't want full volume. I'll accept a 50% volume, but if it's all or nothing, I'm gonna go with nothing...because when you're rushing to answer the phone, you don't want to hunt for the TV remote.

Aside from Battletoads, I like the way SMB2 does it, with the subdued arrangements on the pause screen.

I'm going to go with nay. I certainly don't see the point of an entirely separate track for the pause screen and when I pause my game it's usually to quickly go do something else. There's no need for music to be there.
