I'm a "playstation generation fanboy" that grew up on the NES, Mario, Mario 3 and Zelda 2 (Link) being my very first console games ever. I still vote for Link in these sorts of competitions a lot, because I truly believe that he is an iconic character in an iconic series, but that doesn't mean I can't like other VG franchises more, or believe they are subjectively "better."

The funny thing is that GameFAQs is pretty much RPGFaqs and probably has the largest bias towards RPGs for any major gaming site. If you try any other American-based game sites, forget Final Fantasy beating Zelda/Mario, you might even have your beloved Final Fantasy losing to Gears of War.

How would you consider Deus Ex beating Rock Band an embarrassing result for ANY website? Deus Ex is an artistic high water mark for the medium; it's like Shadow of the Colossus winning--nobody should consider that an embarrassment.


Anyhow...honestly, I personally voted for the trainers because they're the underdog against Cloud/Seph. An upset here would be neat. I do like Cloud/Seph more, though.

Do you realize how dumb that is? It would be like having a best athlete ever contest in which the winner would be a football player every year and then after much complaining from the public, making a best sport ever contest in which football would still win. How is that fair and entertaining in the least? Sure if you're a football fan or in this case, a Zelda fan it might be enjoyable, but wouldn't you want to give someone else the chance to win?

I think people like the Best game of decade contest is that almost nobody expected MM to win.I mean Brawl,Melee,GSC,FFX were the favorites.MM?No way.Almost nobody was serious about that.And it won!That would be a good result EXCEPT it was another Zelda game and a Zelda game that most believe to be inferior to OOT.That is.

Saying an entire contest is good or bad based solely on who won in the end is just silly. Look at the games contest from '04. It was obvious from the beginning that Final Fantasy VII was going to win, with its only possible competition coming from Ocarina of Time (and I was never a fan of either game, then or now). What made it a good contest were things like the Starcraft run and the CT/LttP deadlock. Yes, most of these contests become boring during the final rounds, but they're about the journey, not the destination.

I mean, did basketball fans in the mid-60s say that entire NBA seasons should be canceled because the Celtics always win in the finals?

TP is a GC game released on GC that was ported to Wii. SS was developed soley for the wii. So it's a Wii exclusive.

You can call TP a wii Game...you'd be correct, I can call TP a gC game and I'd be correct. It came out on Both consoles. IT's not rocket science to figure this out. Too hard for some I guess.

Golden Sun beating San Andreas was awesome. Also while Golden Sun and Deus Ex may be RPGs, they both sold a ton and were greatly influential, extremely well received games. Deus Ex>Rock Band especially, because while Rock Band is fun and all, it's nothing special. Nobody would really say they have fond memories of it, because it's more of a distraction. A popular, good distraction, but hey. Deus Ex on the other hand... Time to reinstall it.

Also, good thing I'm not responding to Djoker in this topic since he managed to miss every. single. one. of my points and I can't be bothered to set him straight. Wow, missing the point like that is pretty impressive.
